Scans and/or mp3s appreciated. Cheers, derek Hi Derek Here is the BOOT COPY covered as Patience Valentine ........... ...................................................... BOOT COPY I liked this record, bought it, found out who it really was, found a Rising Sons DEMO and bought that. The Original Rising Sons DJ has the Mauve Star on the young tears side - You either like the record or? I remember buying this along with Dana Valery, Tomangoes, Johnny Caswell, The Gems etc. following a trip to Nottingham - I couldn't believe it - I spent most of my wages at the time on records and treasured these boots all the way home on the train, this was the only way to obtain them for most people at the time. I bought them all on Original Labels Later, which was a lot wiser investment, but when you go to a Northern Venue, you hear that sound, you're hooked, gotta have it, search for a copy, the result ..... playing that Wonderful Vinyl on the Record Decks - Bliss Edited August 12, 2006 by 45cellar
Jim G Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 (edited) Edie Walker was covered up as Patience Valentine by Ian Levine and he played at the Mecca. I used to own it many moons ago. Edited August 11, 2006 by jim g

Edited August 11, 2006 by mark.b
Paul R Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 And this is also a boot, but of the original! And it sounds like this. I liked it at the tim, but is it a bit country? the best bit is towards the end(or maybe at the end ) Therefore it is not the original boot Paul
Mark B Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Patience Valentine-Our Love (A special Blending) MJR £20 Ukp, you pay postage.. this is the ome i was thinking of when i answered the posting. mark
Derek Pearson Posted August 12, 2006 Author Posted August 12, 2006 Aha its all become clear now. I'm trying to put together a discography of our Patience's work and the Real Soul 45 was on a discog that an American collector had sent me. He'd marked it as a 70s release and because I like her voice/style I was intrigued to hear and find out more about this "interesting" record. Only to find out it was really Edie in disguise, damn imagine how pissed off I'd have been if I'd have bought a copy hehehe. Did you know: She recorded "If you don't come" on Sar in 1961 and was in a group called The Flares in 1962. "Our love" is an awesome slowie Mark. "Waking up to a dream" on Thrush is a nice 45 to have stashed away in the boxes. onwards, derek

Guest Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Did you know: She recorded "If you don't come" on Sar in 1961 and was in a group called The Flares in 1962. Going a bit retro here Derek, I had a copy of The Flares album on London, reading the above brought it to mind, why I sold it I don't know 'cos it was worth keeping for the cover alone which depicts the group against a backround of rocket flares ( I wonder who came up with that one!?) the guys with pompadour hairstyles, wearing great yellow suits and Patience up front in a yellow dress and shoes, a stunning cover, it was called "Footstompin' Hits" featuring their hit record, yes you guessed it, "Foot Stompin' and similar R&B tunes....I wish I still had it, ah well.
