I decided to call it a day DJ-in and made the "Inner Soul Club", my very last set.

Martin Smith very kindly offered me an hour and half (instead of the normal hour), so I invited my best mate and record collector "Glyn Hanford" along to join me. Here's what we played on "Original Vinyl" of course:

Four Perfections - I'm Not Strong Enough... (Part Time/Demo)

Masqueraders - Do You Love Me Baby... (Wand/Demo)

Danny Monday - Baby, Without You... (Modern/Demo)

Freddie Chavez - They'll Never Know Why... (Look/Demo)

Jessie Johnson - Left Out... (Old Town/Demo)

Gene Toones - What More Do You Want... (Simco/Demo)

Determinations - You Can't Hold On To Love... (Important/Demo)

Bobby Treetop - Wait Till I Get To Know Ya... (Tuff)

Herb Ward - Strange Change... (Argo/Demo)

Silky Hargreaves - Keep Loving Me... (Dearborn)

Larry Atkins - Ain't That Love Enough... (Romark)

Duke Browner - Crying Over You... (Impact/Demo)

Kenny Carlton - Lost and Found... (Blue Rock)

Sam Dees - Lonely For You Baby... (SSS International)

Sam Williams - Love Slipped Through My Fingers... (Tower/Demo)

George Blackwell - Can't Lose My Head... (Smoke)

The Tomangoe's - I Really Love You... (Washpan)

Sandi Sheldon - You're Gonna Make Me Love You... (Okeh/Demo)

Gene Woodbury - Ever Again... (Del-Val)

Rita & The Tiaras - Gone With The Wind Is My Love... (Dore)

Bobby Williams - I've Only Got Myself To Blame... (Sure-Shot)

Bobby Brinkley - Would It Matter... (Squire)

Bill Bush - I'm Waiting... (Ronn)

Porgy & The Monarchs - My Heart Cries For You... (Musicor/Demo)

The Intros - Stop Look and Listen... (Jamie)

'Ivorys - Please Stay - (Despenza)

Joe Jama - My Life... (Optimum)

Don Varner - Mojo Mama... (Quinvy)

Johnny Honeycutt - I'm Coming Over... (Triode)

Brice Coefield - Ain't That Right... (Omen)

The Tonettes - I Gotta Know... (Dynamic/Demo)

Barbara Lynn - Movin' On A Groove... (Jet Stream)

The Penetrations - Champagne (Shing-A-Ling)... (Highland)

Minnie Jones and The Minuettes - Shadow Of A Memory... (Sugar)

Virginia Blakly - Let Nobody Love You... (Mojo)

Bobby Kline - Say Something Nice To Me... (MB Records)

Best regards,

Awesome mate. A tremendous last spot worthy of any venue anywhere

Why call it a day with a box full of records like that. Think again????

agreed, anyone who danced to that set would have justification in saying they were f***in knackered  and well pleased....it's not a "white collar" issue is it?

.....The way you were sweating Martin.....anybody would have thought it was your round!!!

It was John, that's why I stayed on the dance floor for an hour and half lol!

The things you do to get out of buying a round eh? lol!

The playlist justifies a true record collector and Dj, and a well put together last????  playlist. Not your bog standard run of the mill playlist. I think I would have danced for that session.

Worth getting knackered for.

Just So Nice to see Virginia Blakly on your  playlist - "Delving back in the mists of time" - Circa 1975 it was and always has been a true N.S. Treasure down here in Cambridge - Re Howard Mallett Soul Club and beyond....................................... and guess what even today i never leave home without it !!

That Minnie Jones & the Minuettes sounded really nice...never heard it before. Really, really enjoyed that set mate and sorry you're gonna hang your "boots" up.....(not boot-legs obviously)....real shame.

Minnie Jones just fab - one of my all time oldies favs

Thanks for the above comments, much appreciated. I've also had a lot of nice personal messages.

Gonna be very choosey where we go from now on. One thing for sure, we will definately be travelling down the M1 to Inner Soul Club, Sheffield.

Best Regards,

Bridgey
