Was Anita Hulmes & The Essex, What Did I Do a WC spin or earlier?

 

It was freshly covered at Stafford, or even slightly later, by Guy I think, Not to say it hadn't had a bash before, lots did.

i had a buzz on instros at the time , and recall this also gotta lot of plays in the main room 78ish

It predates the Casino Mark, it was reissued in 68 or 69 because it was so popular and never deleted, it was a revival in early 1978 and that's when the Congress pressings were done.

One of the tunes that got me into northern (the instrumental). God, how my tastes have changed!! although I definitely still have a soft spot for it.

Essex was a wigan play not early though prob 75-77, I stopped going end 77 joined army

cheers...going big again

got a box 50 northern records 1972 for helping mate with his disco and the previous owner was a regular torch goer, he told me that all the records used to be played at the wheel and torch THE KID was among those records &after torch closed he wasent into northern any more

wife n kids etc

Cmon boys, not many monsters. And still mostly deserving of being forgotten, IMVNHO!

 

How about Chris Bartley Out Of My Mind, a monster to 200/300 people for a couple of years, rarely heard? Revealled as really Van McCoy on here previously?

most definitely..a northern spin heard in most youth clubs '72..fairly easy to get and popular even before that..Wheel era probably
