This is a really odd LP from 1969 I used to have....

It's all culled from US King and related labels. Includes Cody Black 'I'm Slowly Moulding' and TC & Bricklayers (other side to 'Up and Down The Hill') among numerous other obscurities. All the tracks are edited and segued into each other (and as I recall, pitched up..). Primitive disco mixing style...

Anyone know the story behind this? Was it a UK only release or Europe? Or did it originate in US?Who compiled it?

I know Motown did a few like this ('Discotheque Classics' or something) and I think I have another one on Polydor but these were a few years later...

Ah! That makes sense. Polydor were going for a soul version of those James Last non-stop dancing LPs.
