really looking forward to this . if its half as good as the Ray film [Ray Charles] it will be brilliant. dont know too much about Chadwick Boseman in the title roll, but with cast members like Dan Aykroyd , Jill Scott Aloe Blacc and Mick Jagger scattered among the cast its got to be worth a watch. how can you shoe horn a life as action packed as the Godfathers into a 138 minute film. YOU CANT . one of the true icons . seems to be on release november 21st in the Manchester area. looking forward to it .whilst on the subject of our heroes given the Hollywood treatment . what happened to the Marvin Gaye movie . i know Lenny Kravitz dropped out of the project . is it still going ahead ? seems to have dragged on for ever. shorty

Not a bad effort.

James Brown's life story is quite something.

Boseman is a pretty decent dancer too.

It's good, deffo worth watching.

I've previously posted up on here somewhere as a recommendation to watch.

It's a really good effort.

Not a spoiler, but considering he was mad as a box of frogs, he didn't half have some clever business acumen.

Enjoy the movie.

It needed subtitles for half of James Brown's lines

Yeah, but that was true of JB himself too, didn't you think the young actor playing him very was good Pete?

I thought he nailed it, not an easy feat.

The track Superbad is brilliant in this, like being hit by a cricket bat

I enjoyed it immensely and it didn't shy away from the fact that he was a real son of a bitch when he wanted to be  :D

It got an 8/10 from me.

No Stevie, he is a black actor called Chadwick Boseman, big star of the future me thinks.

great to see most of the reviews are positive. hate to see them make a real dogs dinner on this project. so much drama in J.Bs life . they probably could have made five films. looking forward to it

the opening scenes where he`s got the pump action rifle and he`s threatening to shoot someone for using his toilet.hahahahahaha

Yeah I thought he was great, and really enjoyed the film, just found some of the dialogue a bit tricky to hear

Looking forward to this.

On a macabre tangent....anyone see that report in the news today that they haven't actually got round to burying him yet??? Doesn't seem a very reliable source but the Guardian have it on their site.
