I'm sure I just heard an advert on the tv using Gil Scott Heron's 'When You Are Who You are'. Except it wasn't Gil, it was someone else, but it still sounded ace! Aviva website I think? Never mind Northern, funky crossover's gone mainstream!

Heard that too Jordi! Did a double-take meself! Pretty sure it was the GSH version though. They sometimes tamper with things for adverts don't they - speed up a bit or equalise for TV sound?

Different stuff but The Glories' I Worship You Baby popped up randomly as background music in an episode of Drifters I was watching the other night (bingewatched the whole series one evening and there's no other Northern in there).

Yep I heard it the other day, didn't sound like GSH to me though, I've got pieces of a man  LP and played it next to the AD, vocals sound different to me, but like said above they could have tampered with it, fantastic track though.

Really don't think its the Gil Scott Heron version based on the one and only time I saw the ad.

Pity he's not still here to make a few quid out of it. :( ...although I like to think he wouldn't have sold his music out to The Man.

Then again, he did do the 'You know when you've tangoed' voiceover!...
