Jason S Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 PM or email soulstacks@gmail.com All clips taken from the record for sale - click the 'hear' button to listen. My EX grading tends to be fussy so be confident that they are pretty good EX grades (same goes down the scale, too) De'Sire - I Don't Care/Feed On The Groove (Lou-Jo-Marc) (EX+) £350 Hear Super catchy modern soul/boogie rarity that seldom turns up on original 45. Ebony Stones - Take You Higher/We Want To Do It (ESP) (EX/EX) £350 Hear Two sides of class Texan funky soul. One side a boogie funk party cut, the other the ethereal, soaring modern soul that is 'Take You Higher'. Somewhat rocky start gives way to a cosmic soul banger. Nu Cru - High Cost/Thank You Baby (Sotoplay) (EX+) £250 Hear Quality West Coast funky boogie on both sides. Frankie Freeman - This Old Shack/Born To Raise Hell (Ghetto) (EX) £200 Hear Dark, moody early 70s northern/crossover crossover sound: one for the fans of something left of centre and almost venturing into the funk side of things. First Class - Tell Me What You Want/Laying My Heart On The Line (Park-Way) (EX-) £150 Hear Really scarce 7" single from the Softones/First Class pairing on Park-Way. The two sides of the 45 did appear on the album but the single is pretty tough to find. Educators Band - Everybody Doing Their Thing Part 1/Everybody Doing Their Thing Part 2 (Dy.Rich) (EX) £125 Hear One of my favourite funk records ever: the way those drums and the bass kick against each other, the sprinkling keys, the soaring sax. Got it all! The Experts - My Love Is Real/(Shing-A-Ling & Boo-g-A-Ling) Big Mama! (JO BY) (EX) £125 Hear Super clean copy of this northern dancer Elaine Armstrong - Sad But True/Precious Moments I can Call My Own (King) (EX) £100 Hear Strong female funky soul that surfaced to a wider audience a couple of years back after being relatively unknown. Michael Cameron & The Dynasty Of Sound - Small Bag And You/Many Faces Of Love (Atlantis) (M-) M- £80 Hear Bass heavy funky boogie featuring the Dynasty of Sound. Picking up spins. Seen this listed for £50+ more this week. Seventh Of May - Boy, Am I Happy/Don's Song (Pennycliff) (M-) M- £80 Hear Sprightly, uptempo positive message northern dancer Shirlene King - Super Stuff/Super Stuff II (HoMark) (M-) M- £80 Hear Sassy, classy female empowerment funker. Grant St Exit - I Got Soul/That's Why I Love You (Del-La) (EX) EX £75 Hear Hear Decent uptempo northern meets a killer downtempo, low rider deep side.
