Mtay9778 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Saw a video on YouTube of San Remo Strings-I Have Faith in You. Sounds like an instrumental of the Doni Burdick version. Has anyone got any more info on this. Was it ever released and if so how much are you roughly going to pay for a copy? Cheers! Mike 1
Pete S Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 No idea why they'd call it San remo Strings. It's the Detroit Symphony and was procured by Mr. Soussan when he released Bari Track, gave it out on a couple of acetates. Not released until a Goldmine LP late 80's then on a white label as the B side to a pressing of Barbara McNair. Both were pressed slightly too fast.

Pete S Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Is this the version that Guy used to play? Dave, didn't he used to play Back Street purely instrumental version? 1
Pete S Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 You might like this too Pete!! Absolutely amazing Rob, where are you getting this stuff, I can't believe there's an instrumental to Please Operator, was really enjoying ripping the audio out of that one until it faded out at 1 minute 30 1
Dave Rimmer Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Dave, didn't he used to play Back Street purely instrumental version? Yes it was Back Street instrumental, but it's a completely different mix to the one on the single

Detroit is the city that just keeps on giving lol Please Operator - So despite having no Detroit credits on the label at all, that I could see - is that a Funk Brothers track, recorded in Detroit? I had no idea.

Pete S Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 These have been just brilliant, instrumental of Call On Me (Barbara Mercer) and a string-less version of Lucky To Be Loved which I've never heard before 1

Pete S Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Same people. If not a daft question - how can a symphony orchestra be the same as an 8 piece or whatever band I mean you can hear that it is actually an orchestra playing on the record, there must be a dozen string instruments on there

Kegsy Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Stop it you bastards I am on train with you tube bloacked and dying to listen to these! Stop now. I suppose its too much to hope that you are on a train heading east from Moscow to Siberia where your mobile wont work for a week or so. 2
Soulfinger Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 This is just awesome. I am struggling to come to terms with the fact that so many of these exist and have been kept so quiet. Surely stuff of this quality deserves a commercial release?
