I know and understand OVO ,but ,I have never heard this out ,doubt if I ever will ,to be honest I couldn't give a toss if it was a boot,I would just love to hear it

am I wrong ?

I'd never heard it in the first place, so also never heard it out. Do you really want to hear it on a boot though Baz? What is one of your favourite records (saw your other post) suddenly played everywhere, careful what you wish for buddy

Ted Massey?

Dave Thorley?

Carl Fortnum?

I suspect that at least one of them has at least one.

Could be totally wrong of course but there are some out there.

Dave Thorley had one (original), maybe still has

Ted Massey has one still, I think, maybe for 'One Dance'

Carl Fortnum had one about 10 years ago,  i don't think he has sold it

I sold one of those on here, last year or 18 months ago.

And I dare say that's the only copy you have ever seen

I've heard this played a few times by those that have the real thing and I would never want to hear it ever get booted it makes it all the sweeter when you actually do hear it. Tunes like this are worth the travelling for and if you travel and a dj you know has it and asked for it they would no doubt play it for you Bazza  :hatsoff2:

One Dance is great but there is also a fantastic take on Globe by The Creations 'Oh Baby'.

Andy Dyson has a copy, Kev Murphy, At least one other Lifeline resident played it when we was at Stables, could've been Butch........I think JM auctioned one, at least one through ebay, there are copies out there, not many but there are some.

there was at least two copies back in the 80's.

Yes you're right Bearsy, but I have never known any one who has it and yes I would travel to hear The original

A tune not being heard or played much is the worst argument for playing bootlegs or pressings. The peddlers use this argument - that their product means the tune gets heard more, it's just nonsense.

it might be true in the short term - if there was a need to hear every great tune every week, but there isn't.

the way some tunes are illusive, or the way some are in the hands of djs who dont play them, or only play them to a certain audience...these things keep the whole thing varied and interesting; it's a model with built in room for progression.

What's the rush? You dont hear a tune enough, get one and play it, or get one of the million djs to get one and play it. Eventually, someone will, and that's something to look forward to. And without bootlegs, it'll at least get played by someone who's gone to some lengths to get it, not someone who gets their sets from ebay uk.

I love the fact that there's a whole pile of great tunes I've known years but never yet danced to, or even heard out, more still that i haven't ever heard. Means there's life in it yet. .

Oh dear. If this is among the best of the recent rare discoveries, we must've passed the best a long time imo. It's alright but nothing special.

Alex Jones has or had one.

The 1st time I heard it was on a tape almost 35 years ago (1980);

Loved it from the 1st hearing, I think it was Sam who played it when I 1st heard it played out.

One of the difficulties in discussing the amount of copies, in respect of  "group" records like this, is the number of copies sat filed away in U.S. collections along with "Imperial C's", "Cashmeres", "5 Chances" etc etc

Bagged my copy from Mick Smith via Pete. Get yourselves to Driving Beat in Leeds on 18th Oct and you'll hear it!

Craved it for years - what a double sider! Remember Marc Forrest playing it at your bash Dave - see you tomorrow I hope assuming we arrive back in one piece from Seville

I had this on tape from the 80s. Pleasent enough tune but nothing special to me. Puts me in mind of that happy sort of beat like Dave Love Colalined Baby (which I think is better and a lot lot lot cheaper).

What ?????? I was ripped off ha ha ;-) I always thought Pete was Mr bargain man, damn !

It was a very popular record at Stafford. I got mine in a swap with Chris Plant for a copy of Whispering Shadows, yes I know I couldn't believe it either. Then sold to Ted, as he has mentioned earlier. As far as I know, Butch, Andy Dyson, Honky have one. There is also one in Bob Abrahamian's collection
