Citizen P Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 Just a couple that I need sorting. I bought a copy of that forgotten Detroit tune "why Did You Leave Me Girl" Mad Dog & The Pups on Magic City but the label is Yellow, all the others I've seen are on the Blue Label with Multi coloured Lettering so is this a pressing or what? (It was very cheap so it wont break my heart) 2nd-- Without a Warning--The Amazers, bought yeeaars ago at Wigwam, thing is it is on red Thomas label with the Scorpion design all the copies I've seen since are on a plain label.Any one got any info?? Cheers Tony
Garethx Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 (edited) Don't think I've ever seen The Amazers on anything other than this label. Also, all issue copies of the Mad Dog 45 you mention are yellow with black type. Edited November 4, 2004 by garethx
Pete S Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 It's on a plain design with Thomas in a straight line at the top, I think there are red ones and pale green ones and there's presumably a white demo too...
Sebastian Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 It's on a plain design with Thomas in a straight line at the top, I think there are red ones and pale green ones and there's presumably a white demo too... link Have seen a whole bunch of different designs for the Amazers 45. Below is a scan of my copy. All of them are originals as far as I know (still a £5-£10 disc so why bootleg it?). Great storming dancer.
Pete S Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 I don't think they are bootlegs, I think it was a local hit and I think the scorpion design is a later pressing...
Garethx Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 I'm guessing the scorpion design is the first. The plain red Thomas label is distributed through Atco.
