Guest twillg Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Earlier this summer I noticed that the great discography site soulsides.co.uk was no longer up. After a quick google search, I was saddened to find that the man who ran it, Mike Stirling, passed away. Over the last few years I found that soulsides.co.uk consistently had some of the most extensive soul label discographies around. It's obvious that Mike, and whoever else contributed, were really passionate and did some amazing work. I thought it would be really good to help preserve his work and make sure a lot of the things he found and chronicled weren't lost forever, so I reached out to the company that hosted his site to see if they still had the files from his website. They said they could only give access to the account after seeing a death certificate and receiving a change of account request. I just wanted to reach out to the forum to see if anyone was close to Mike? Also, I wanted to know if anyone would want to host the content on their site - if not, I am willing to host it. Ultimately, I think the work he did is an incredible resource and it would be sad to see it gone forever.
