Barry Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 ...on Facebook. I really don't see the point. Don't get me wrong I'm a member of a few and have had my own in the past, I also understand that many people are happy to be a part of them.... ...but...surely after a while you realise that....you end with a Casinelli's group that ends up posting the same as a Mecca group that ends up posting the same as a Wigan group. They all...and I mean all...end up posting a stream of overplayed, overheard classics...,if I see fecking Moody Woman roll down my feed with the reply 'Ace!' one more time , I'm relocating. 1

Guest jkidd Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I know what you mean, some one asked on one of them the best the best double sider they knew, i put carol and gerri and the broadways, them lot were arguing over r dean taylor, ghost in my house or lets go somewhere, and if i see frank wilson or the snake posted as the best northern record ever i,ll i,ll !
Soulstu Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 We all ought to join these groups and completely flood 'em with loads of obscure (but excellent) records - it'll drive 'em mad!... they might learn summat too. 1
Wicked Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I'm not on fb anymore, but when I was I saw so many records on the Wigan page that were Wheel,Torch or early mecca tunes and thought, what's the point ? Do they all still sign off their posts with KTF or KOKO. 1
Chalky Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Depends what groups you join, most of the wigan type ones are crap full of rubbish and folk who don't have a clue, but the Stafford, Deep, mid tempo ones etc are fantastic with some superb records posted, plenty I'd never heard. Depends how they look after them and what muppets they let in. 1
Wicked Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I joined a crossover and a deep soul group which were very good, loads of stuff which was new to me and a lot of interesting info about the tunes. I went to Wigan Casino is ok for old photos but that's about it. 1
