binsy Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 i used to love those Jools gigs, absolutely wonderful times. Hearing so many tunes i had never heard before plus all the great Scottish guys Jim,Peter, Speedy etc that were living in London at the time.
Simon M Posted August 28, 2014 Author Posted August 28, 2014 Awesome times really , diverse mix of tunes too
John Reed Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Les Fisher's early spots were fantastic, he always dug out some surprises. It's a shame those late 80's London nights, seem not to get the recognition they really derserved as some great music was played. I also picked up some really nice bits there. I also have a fond memories of Ivor head bobbing up and down, when playing Jessie Henderson. 1
binsy Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Very true John as they were great times as well as Parkers and the fleetwood/ Southport Weekenders. Another night that never gets a mention is the Side Door soul club with Gary Thomas, Tony Rounce, Mole, Ivor Jones plus guests. 1
Mark68 Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Yep, great days. For those that didn't see Simon's post on faceache here's a couple of sets from Jools Wine Bar. I've cut them short but I'll try and post up the full sets when I get round to it - https://www.independentmovement.co.uk/music/mixes.htm
