Guest Carl Dixon Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Being a reggae fan before soul! I have a demo song I recorded in 2003 called 'Hang it up' which I am thinking of recording for real in Jamaica at some stage. It's just really getting my act together, coordinating and coming up with the money. I have ideas about who can help over there with guitar. I also need to take the vibes at the end off, replace with organ/something else, and the organ at the end, replace with a guitar lick..but nevertheless...it's about time I did it. Is anybody aware of any old school musicians still in the business? Maybe the guitarist is the answer! I boot up my old hard drive and this keeps sticking its head out at me. It's a bit repetitive, but once the vocals are down it would sound better.... https://soundcloud.com/55motown/hang-it-up
Biggordy Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Forget Jamaica and look up Roberto Sanchez of A-Lone productions in Spain on Facebook. Roberto and his musicians have that classic reggae sound down to a tee.
nij flood Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Nice enough but it just sounds like a cut of William DeVaughn "Be thankful". There were several JA cuts of that my favourite probably Jackie Mittoo's " A Big Car" for Studio One. Check YouTube
