Part 4 final - looks at the present day bands and the future of funk music in terms of world music.
This 60 minute feature delves into the present day interest in 70s "retro" funk music and traces its origins back to the black American music culture of the 1960s - 1970s.
This Film documents current day musicians, DJs, record collectors, record companies and event organizers who now drive this vibrant underground music scene.

Interviews range from DJ Ian Wright,DJ "Snowboy ", Gerald Jazzman, DJ Keb Darge and various other DJs and record collectors who were all partly credited of kick starting the current funk music craze back in the 2000s.

The documentary then digs further back in time to the club culture of the early 1980s, where DJ Lascelles Lascelle & DJ Barrie K Sharp helped put 70s "retro" funk on the map with their London club night " Cat in the Hat". Alongside fellow DJ/Club organizers Norman Jay & Jazzie B, they finally gave rise to the "Rare Groove" scene of the 1980/90s.

In the early 1990s, "Rare Groove" blended with the Jazz Funk music scene becoming "Acid Jazz" , spurning iconic live artists, such as:The Brand New Heavies, Jamiroquai and Soul II Soul.

The documentary finally takes a critical look at the new live bands , such as Sharon Jones and the Dapkings, Speedometer, Osaka Monorail, The Bamboos and The New Mastersounds. All of which are interviewed and/or appear in this in depth look at the new funk music scene for the 21st century.
