As does the knock on effect which is to prompt clueless sellers to suddenly matchg the prices that the records sold in auction, and 6 months along the line, they become almost the accepted prices - meanwhile people like me selling them at what I regard as the fair price are told they're "giving" stuff away selling it so cheaply.  So what?  Moaning because you're getting a bargain?

I was thinking about "top-end price matching" the other day. Where people check popsike or whatever, see a record has hit £200 and think "well, I'll ask £200, then..." What they don't factor in is that the original seller didn't even get £200 - they got £200 minus ebay's 10% minus paypal's 4% - so it's more like £172. So, they think they can get even more for a copy without having 1000s of people seeing it.

Just a fascinating little insight into greed, there, folks...

Pete, the white demo probably never came with the picture sleeve - you could have kept the sleeve and married it up with an issue at a later date.

I've got about 7 or 8 Okeh picture sleeves, and the majority of them came with demos - some of which were deadstock, so i know they weren't married up later.

I reasoned the picture sleeves were for commercial purposes and the white demos just giveaway items but this evidence confirms Okeh used picture sleeves for both demonstration and issue copies.
