That Gavin, sometimes he makes really good contributions and at least gets people talking and things livened up; but other times he's plain daft, he must have known that posting the track up would get him booted again.

He didn't. He mentioned Gary Glitter as someone of whom too much publicity was not a good thing. Not once did he link I.L. with paedophile activity

I don't know Ian Levine, not even sure if I've ever met him. Have obviously heard the stories over the years, but to be honest don't take too much notice of other peoples opinions. But IMHO and I can only speak for myself all this banter from The sidekick only seems to make the mud already flying stick more.

This is a very sensible post. I've met Ian a few times and he's always been friendly enough. I know the things he's said to have done and most of it is probably true and that is in the past, but whenever his so called 'friends' come on here and try to defend him, they never do him any favours, they just make things worse. Since members are supposed to be named now I'm guessing sidekick is Gavin Stern?

OK Shane, let me put another way. Yet again there's a thread on here about Levine and as usual his sexuality is held up as a subject for derision and humour... I think Simon's post#28 sums up the correct reaction to that.

Why then, does the thread have to plumb new depths by bringing paedophilia into the discussion? Rather distasteful in my view.

I dont know him, I have talked to him maybe twice about 25 years ago but it has to be said, he certainly generates some bad feeling.

If you stick your neck out as much, and upset as many people as he has over the last 30 years or so its going to get nasty.

I think Dave, when anyone mentions Gary Glitter anymore its not his musical past that immediately springs to mind, as in the instance given was purely stated as having left the country.

Levines sexuality does not particularly interest me, nor does he as a person, to me he just continues to have mud attached to his name and having someone such as his "ass kick" or what ever his name was, does the geezer no favours at all.

Wow , this subject has got just a little bit shitty . It was never meant to start an interal war or degrade and point the finger at anyone because of there sexuallity . It was an open observation for the world to see on eBay. This scene has always been frought with petty arguments and one-up-man-ship (no pun intended) and I suppose it will always be that way. I have meet and dealt with all the big players ! over the years and I have personal thoughts on all of them, but the thoughts are solely related to the music and records NOT anyones personal preferances.

On that thoughtSorry Mr L for this thread dragging up any bad shit on you or anyone else for that matter . On a musical note is'nt it time you did a cover of NINE TIMES again
