Prophonics 2029 Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 (edited) I had an email of eBay today saying a transaction had been returned for 1.75 and it had failed.. I logged into ebay with all the stars that looked ok stored in cookies that took me to paypal but I didn't log in? My paypal has money in it so I can't see why the account failed. It did show me quiet a few messages in my account tho? Edited July 20, 2014 by Prophonics 2029
Prophonics 2029 Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 (edited) It might be ok but with the recent ebay hack I am cautious. Seems to be something with an agreement from paypal to ebay to transfer money automatically. Edited July 20, 2014 by Prophonics 2029
Mick Holdsworth Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 (edited) Best thing to do is NOT follow any links on the email, but go directly to paypal and see what your account is showing, and take it from there. Edited July 20, 2014 by Mick Holdsworth
Prophonics 2029 Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 Ebay account shows a message but paypal says nothing that's why it's strange.
Thecivilservice Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Have you recently bought something for 1.75 or not?
Markw Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Ebay were at pains to stress that the hacking they suffered a couple of months back did not affect Paypal accounts.
whereismy record Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I got the same email this week, however the email came to my other email account that is not attached to Pay pal or ebay. These are scam email's, that as soon as you put in your details, they then get access to your real account. Best to go to you ebay account through your normal method and not the link provided. If it was genuine, then there should be a message sitting in the message box, even opening the scam link can be a thread into your computer for the scammer.
Prophonics 2029 Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 (edited) I did click from the email and if I go through another way into my eBay then I have a message as well. But they know who I am and email address. I dont think this proved any thing as yet I sold a record that was lost in the post and issued a full refund so Surely it should be a refund and not an extra charge.??
