Jamo Thomas Uk

Keeper

Recommended Posts

Here's a couple of interesting ones :

The first one has the SABAM script, that is a Belgian only licensing body, I have to assume made for the Belgian market by Mojo UK. The other is I guess a UK issue, I've not seen one like this before, they tended to centreless and of course black.

The belgian press looks like a bootleg to me. I mean, just look at the logo. and the overall appearance of the label. Smells fishy.

BTW, I keep seeing an allegedly german press of Jamo Thomas on lists. Can somebody confirm that there's really one?

You could well be right, they were experts at doing this sort of thing.

:hatsoff2: HI ALL

One of the most popular soul records of all time in the UK, hence all the reissues, mind you it may be common to most, my copy is what makes me & others collect UK,

Not the rarest on the label but still a very hard find, not sure of current value, at a guess £300 but Pete Smith will know  DAVE K

Silver Mojo replaced the black paper one, around the time of Timmy Thomas 'Why can't we live together' and Joe Simon 'Step by step' then they must have just closed the label and it went directly to Polydor

Dave,

I'd have thought this was at least as hard to find as the others on the logo.  I've only ever had one of these whereas I've had or had the opportunity to own many a Tony Middleton or Edwin Starr demo.

Great record.

 Regards,

Dave

:hatsoff2: HI ALL.. HERES A MUSIC FACT FOR LIFE (make a good thread I think).

Over 10 years ago at least, I used to travel to KEELE ALL-NIGHTER with Mick Smith, on our journey from Wolves to Soul on Spoon, Mick like to listen to tapes I did, in particular,, the RADIO SHOWS from PCRL  The Sunday afternoon soul show,

I hope they will forgive me for forgetting the hosts name, also any one else? there was a conversation with Richard (popcorn) Wylie, in the interview the host played Luther Ingram's version of "I spy for the FBI" Popcorn stated that Luthers version is In fact the original & Jamos  was the 2nd version, and went on to become a world wide hit, both of us did not know that fact, I wonder what Luther thought about the Jamo Thomas version becoming the big hit,? I have not got a copy of "Exsus trek, who is credited as writer / producer / publisher :g: it can't be JT :( DAVE K
