Not sure that info is correct,i did see that website ,that`s why i thought i`d put it out on here.

Sweet Memories-Robert Tanner 45 was from 1970 who was one of the Singers in New Sounds so i would imagine it would be around `69` ,maybe 1970 before the 45. It was also done by New Sounds/Written by Dawson Smith band member.

Didn`t a member interview one of the band a while back?Maybe someone could post up the interview  :g: .

Robert Tanners 45s were recorded in Dawson Smith's studio in Lynchberg. 3 or so members of the New Sounds had recorded as solo acts with Dawson. Think 2-3 year gap between Robert Tanner and New Sounds. There was a young guy in Lynchberg who interviewed and got the scoop on how it all fitted together.  Google it when u stuck in TdF traffic with your meter off this afternoon Waynipoos....... :D:

According to Funky Virginia the 45's were first lp later which is how I understood it to be.

DJmadlad seems to be the one in the know, the info is probably on his site....

https://www.djmadlad.com

DJmadlad, that' the lad, doesn't he talk about the 500 press tuns of Robert Tanners 45s and recording them in his one track studio? I researched it for my book because Dawson Smith had a 45 on Scepter in the 70s….

Ha ha very good Steve  .Your be pleased to know i avoided all the tour de France yesterday ,most of the jobs were  away from event  .

Looks like the Robert Tanner 45  was a mid 60`s recording going by Sir Rambling site(he`s usually bang spot on) so discogs is wrong .

Will check out and ask mad lad .Thx for the help chaps
