A dealer in the States just looking in a british soul valuation book thinks he's got a 'SOUL RARITY'

Doesnt  realise his copy for sale  probably IS'NT a mis- pressed TONY GALLA !!!!!

To make things worse, there are 3 bids to date highest bid up at over $200 with only 8 hours to go  

None of the bidders appear to have asked if its a mis-press (no questions - no answers)

 

I'm pretty sure there have been only a small batch of these mis-presses and ALL are black issues ?

 

Incidentally i dont know what SOUTHBOUND FREEWAY sounds like but i'm guessing it is'nt

very soulful and not what these  wallies will be happy to end up with  

 

 

I saw this and immediately dismissed it cos it was a demo, still, I've said it before, if people are dumb enough to pay silly money when they don't know what they're doing. It serves em right if unsure,at least do a bit of research first.

The seller states there is an import charge to be added (looking like £50 plus)

just to get an unwanted pop record out of the post office

I can't speak for the bidders on this record, but the real Southbound Freeway 45 is worth some money. $200 might be a bit high but not out of the question. It's not soul, been a while since I heard it but I remember it being in a 60s rock/psych style. Certainly not an 'unwanted pop record'.

Yeah but the Seller clearly states its Northern Soul not a 60's rock/psych record and i'm thinking the bidders

are gonna find this pretty unwanted when one of them wins it. 

I sent him a message, it is actually Southbound Freeway. Pop record I think.

So the yellow copys are issues? I always thought they were an demo...

Urhh dunno know seen the yellow Tony and thought I had seen a yellow Southbound.

Is the Southbound Freeway "Revelations" that plays Tony Galla "In Love" really a Tony Galla issue with the wrong label?

The real Southbound Freeway "Revelations" is a different record and not connected to "In Love" Tony Galla?

I was told that the Southbound Freeway release was the first issue, but I am beginning to see that's wrong!

The ones that play Tony Galla have the wrong labels on. Southbound Freeway is a completely different record.

Tony Galla isn't soul either 

 

I recall selling one of these mispressing on ebay years ago & Tony Galla actually contacted me! 

Haha....! Touché..... SoulHawk,you're right of course, it isn't Soul. I think however,it is great "Northern Soul" though which obviously isn't always the same thing. I still love it anyway. It's funny because I sold my original white promo back in about 1990 ( for £40 ! )but then regretted it not long after and actually bought back one of the Southbound Freeway copies when Tim Brown had a few copies about 10-15 years back.

Never realised that the Southbound Freeway promos were different.

What's a realistic price on the S.F issue which plays "In Love" now then ?

Brought mine off Tim Brown at Prestatyn weekender a few years back for £100 at the time

 

Don't know if its gone up in value ?      As there aren't many of these its not easy to value.
