Pete S Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Just found this in the garage, The Hi-Tones "Girls" Seg-Way It's a version of The Shirelles song "Boys" and has a pretty good R&B backing track and gritty vocals (B side is doo wop) Not saying it's anything, just wondered if it was known cheers
Guest in town Mikey Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I may be mixing songs up. But I have a distant memory of Brian Mathew playing this on his Saturday morning show. He went through a spell of playing songs that 'replied' to hit songs. eg the response to the Shirelles will you still love me tomorrow by Bertelle Dache - Not just tomorrow but always.
Pete S Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 certainly a foot tapper Pete I like it Didn't realise it was up on the net, cheers Ted Starts around 2:36

I've got a few compilations of these answer type records, mainly Belgian boots (the comps I mean), must be around 100 tracks...the amount of records released really is mind boggling

Mr Smithy Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Just FYI Pete, it has been booted so check it. Needs to have a Bell Sound. Was covered by the Beatles somewhere or other so completists want it. Good luck with it

Robbk Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 "Girls" doesn't seem to be on You-Tube, can anyone post a file of it? I'd like to hear it.
