Frankie Crocker, I've got the 2nd issue and have no desire to sell but like u say 10-15 tops I love Frankie Crocker too..and Bari Track... time to reopen the instrumentals thread. Or what about instrumentals which are better than their vocal versions...like Sidras Theme
Pete S Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Could have guessed the seller without seeing a picture or description - just the price 2
Daz Mc Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 yep i can normally tell its him too Pete ,he must add his date of birth to his phone number to get the prices he commands. 1
dthedrug Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Hi All the SIDRA theme would make a great sampled record in the same way as FAT BOY SLIM did with "SLICED TOMATOES" DAVE K
mid tempo Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Sorry cant stand instrumentals. Do my ed in. More so when theres a vocal.
Koolkat Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I love Frankie Crocker too..and Bari Track... time to reopen the instrumentals thread. Or what about instrumentals which are better than their vocal versions...like Sidras Theme Bari Track just gets better and better to these ears. Brilliant played out loud.
Soulstu Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Sorry cant stand instrumentals. Do my ed in. More so when theres a vocal. Eh? You don't like instrumentals or vocals? The only alternative is silence!
Stateside Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I love it, me. One of the best instrumentals of all time. "Hold on Help is on the way" is one of my favourites. Reminds me of Wigan
Pete S Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Bari Track just gets better and better to these ears. Brilliant played out loud. Better every time you hear it, and I hear it a lot, it's mind blowing on the headphones. Thing is, on all the various mixes of I Miss My Baby, the backing track sounds really tame, but on that instrumental only, it's raging beast of a record!
Steve Foran Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Yes Bari Track is fab. One of Alan Pollards faves. I sold his copy to a lad on here. Turned out was his own old copy. It had his initials in the run out groove. What great tune Mike Terry could play.

mid tempo Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Stu. More so wen theres a vocal TO the said instrumental. Prefer lyrics n vocals personally. .gaz.
Garethx Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Who first played the vocal? Assuming Sidra's Theme was Curtis or Levine at The Mecca.
Pete S Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Who first played the vocal? Assuming Sidra's Theme was Curtis or Levine at The Mecca. I had an Uncle by marriage who used to go to the Catacombs, he also went to the first night at Wigan, anyway in 1975 he gave me a tape of all the current big sounds, it included Dena Barnes, Eloise Laws, Sam Ward, and also Ronnie & Robyn. I didn't know anyone who'd ever heard of it. Anyway a year later, I bought an Emidisc of a DJ who came to play in our village, I actually bought it for whatever was on the A side because there was nothing written on the B. Turned out to be Ronnie & Robyn. So I always did a tape to play on the coach or in the car, and even then nobody knew it. I don't ever remember it being played until Russ played it in 1977, soon after it came out with the instrumental on the B side. So to sum up, it may well have been a minor Cats play but other than that, no idea!
