Lionelonthevinyl Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) Seen both of these on e-bay with copied labels on them ( advertised as non originals )..is this a normal thing? Can guarantee people will buy these and dj with them as originals, and most people would be none the wiser without knowledge/studying them...both from the same seller...annoying to me, what do you guys think?..Rob Edited May 30, 2014 by Lionelonthevinyl
Pete S Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Bit sad really - fine to play at home, or the local handbag night even, but more than that, no...
Lionelonthevinyl Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 Just thought.....please don't let this start another ovo debate....Rob
Lionelonthevinyl Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 Your right pete...but if you have a look the labels look right...but it's not right....Rob
Julianb Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Think I'm correct in saying that this seller regularly sells 45 with 'fake' labels
Guest Aaron Darcy Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Think I'm correct in saying that this seller regularly sells 45 with 'fake' labels yes correct julian 'get him locked up if you can.
John Moffatt Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 More nonsense that is slowly degrading the soul scene.

davidwapples Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 check his completed listings , getting good money for old records with copies of original labels on them
Modernsoulsucks Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Just a thought. Where is he getting "old records" from if he has sold multiple copies of some. Old boots aren't that easy to get ? ROd
purist Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I'm sure the seller thanks you for all the extra publicity for their sales.....

Pete S Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 surely they're carvers? Don't think so John, I think they're old bootlegs. Holly St James (Soul Fox), Jeanette Harper (Bee) etc. I"m trying to think of a Larry Clinton pressing though..
Pete S Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Talking of lookalikes, what about this one? Actually pressed as this..

Mellorful Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I suspect Pete is right with the seller having access to originals; with modern technology, a very good scanner printer and away you go with lookalike labels stuck on reissues.
Modernsoulsucks Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 surely they're carvers? Yes I was thinking that too. More reliable than picking up the boots/re-issues. I'd guess that most prospective buyers wouldn't be on here so not really a plug for his ads and if it stops the odd person reading this bidding up to £50 + then probably worthwhile highlighting ? And don't forget the other seller with his double-sided 45s starting mostly at £19.99 ROD

Mach Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 yes i agree Pete they are defo carvers, but them other ones have the same B sides as Goldmine 7S
