Popular Post billb Posted May 28, 2014 Popular Post Posted May 28, 2014 Gladys Maria Knight is 70 today. The Empress of Soul gave us loads of Northern Northern classics, Just Walk In My Shoes, If you ever get your hands on love, Here are the pieces of a broken heart, No one could love you more, Baby don't waste my time, It's too late for you and me. We all have our own favourite tracks by her but what a legend of the scene. Happy 70th Gladys and well done! 4
Guest Matt Male Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) Not a single dud record, All Over But the Shouting, Tell Her You're Mine, Daddy Could Swear, the list goes on, and still a beautiful woman. Edited May 28, 2014 by Matt Male

Guest scottie Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) definitely in my top two female vocalists its a photo finish between her and patti austin recently read her biography and regards jims earlier posting about making mincemeat of aretha i agree and according to her book they do not get on and this feud has gone on for the last 30 odd years.happy belated birthday to the empress of soul. Geoff Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Belated happy birthday Gladys. Thanks for the great music over the years. I still remember seeing you and the Pips on a Sunday afternoon at the Saville Theatre in London, when you were second on the bill to Joe Tex. He never turned up, many decided to go home, but the rest of us were invited to move to the front seats. Brilliant show, you sang your older songs, Letter Full Of Tears, Every Beat Of My Heart, Giving Up, etc plus Just Walk In My Shoes and your then new record Take Me In Your Arms And Love Me. Happy days.
