Yep - When I used to listen to sounds of the sixties regularly years ago Brian Mathew used to play some really interesting 60s beat and psychedelic stuff etc hidden between the Frankie Vaughans and Engelberts and whatnot - B-sides and all that, but the northern content has shot up in recent years. It's very interesting and pleasing to hear these 45s in conjunction with other genres of the same era - a lot of the northern sides sound so rich and strong  and really jump out of the speakers compared to others.

A bit earlier he played Little Richard, Get Down With it, and Mary Love & Arthur Alexander. Good show for once, sometimes it had too much Frankie & Englebert.

Anyone else heard the Halfords advert on Heart FM(wife listens to it.....)? I'm sure whoever wrote the advert must have heard Steve Karmen, the bass start and deep voice narration. Very similar to Breakaway.
