Willie Hutch - The Duck / Love Runs Out [Dunhill ]

The best call of the lot. Because Love Runs Out is quite simply the most wonderful slab of music ever played under the name of soul on any dance scene anywhere, ever.

Another vote from me for each of the Commands, Cashmeres, Epitome Of Sound, John & The Wierdest, Magnetics (Bonnie) and Magnetics (Sable)...

Don't think anyone's mentioned:

Eddie Parker: Crying Clown/I'm Gone (Awake) (in that order, as far as I'm concerned, in the sense that for me "Crying Clown" is EVEN better than "I'm Gone")

Al Wiliams: I Am Nothing/Brand New Love (La Beat)

Cairos: Don't Fight It/Stop Overlooking Me (Shrine) (again, in that order)

Bobbie Smith: Walk On Into My Heart/Miss Stronghearted (American Arts)

Anita Anderson: Little Bit Longer/Secretly (Contact)

Big Maybelle: Quitting Time/ I Just Can't Wait Any Longer (Rojac)

Personal fave double sider of the lot has to be:

Traits: Someday Someway/You Waited Too Long (Contact)

Cheers,

Nick

That's interesting Kev, I was thinking about a shrine 45 that came up for sale some years back, it had been pressed wrong, and had two classic dancers from the label on it, dunno bout the labels, is this that very disc by any chance?

Malcolm

I once had the pleasure of playing the actual record (unless there's more than one) Both sides had the correct Cairos labels on but oddly one side was guess who loves you
