Soul-slider Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Recently purchased this... Lloyd & Randolph - It Ain't (Duke) UK re-press (flip of Bob Melody - The Break) Originally released on Coxsone UK as 'Larry & Alvin - Your Cheating Heart' 1968 Had me in tears thinking about someone years ago that put me through shit, one line goes "I'm out of the dark 'cos I see the sunshine, now I know I'm over you"....I remember waking up one Sunday morning in my mum's house, feeling better than I had done for months, I sat on her balcony, the sun was shining and I felt like my old self again. I think I got emotional because I was D.J'ing a couple of weeks back in my local pub and she walked in with a couple of her mates, I hadn't seen her for years. She stared at me all night but I stayed away, the next day I got a 'friend request' on facebook. No chance. It's such an emotive song, very, very soulful indeed. The power of music! 1
Pete S Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Awesome record, had this on a blank for years, I also have The Break, I paid £275 for that! So I ebayed it and got back half of what I paid. Damn fake bidders making me pay over the top.
Stephen T Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 I love this tune- played it on my show last week: https://www.mixcloud.com/StephenT/a-scorcha-from-stephen-t-show-1-21st-may-2014/ I thought it sounded like a studio 1. Is the Break Studio 1 as well? It's actually Winston Francis isn't it 2
