phillyDaveG Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Picked this up last year. Didn't see it on the Virtue discog. Bit of a rarity out of Philly. I know it also saw a later release by the artist on his own label, but not seen another copy on Virtue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwUGT6jHRqY
Sunnysoul Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 The Virtue label numbering was all over the place and the label operated for a relatively broad time period, not surprising that it could still throw up something like this. Although I must say this tune sounds like an Irish lounge crooner auditioning for the Love Boat.
Steve G Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 A lot of the numbering was related to the date of the issue of the actual record 3
John Benson Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Meaning as in the above record - V10477 released on October 1st 1977? I didn't know that one... 1
Sunnysoul Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Are there any Virtue discographies other than Dave Rimmer's? https://www.soulfulkindamusic.net/virtue.htm

Lol, hear what you mean by lounge singer, but I really like it, and judging by the $ that the later issue goes for, I'm not alone.

phillyDaveG Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Did this come out on sha fue or something like that Yes Mark, Looks like the Virtue copy was '77, whereas the artst then tried it on his own label? Sha Fue in '79. Also came out on a Sha Fue LP in '81.
Steve G Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 John, yes 4th October 1977. Check a few others they follow the same pattern.
