Dayo Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 (edited) A nice game for the weekend I hope: Name this song by title and artist from the lyric. If you spot it first, then you set the next question - geddit? It won't be much fun if the songs are mega rare and obscure, so play fair! Here's an easy one for starters... "I'm as proud as any fella could be..." Edited October 29, 2004 by Dayo
Dayo Posted October 29, 2004 Author Posted October 29, 2004 I guess they are all easy when you know them. And I'm guessing you may kick yourself when the right answer gets posted. Not posting clues just yet...
Dayo Posted October 29, 2004 Author Posted October 29, 2004 I'm surprised no-one's got this, but then maybe it's a forgotten oldie these days. Didn't want to give clues, but maybe I should have picked a chestnut to get this thread going. I'd say it was a Chicago record from '66, part of a double A side, popular at the Wheel, sung by a guy with more Northern hits to his name than almost any other singer....
Pete S Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Well it's either Gene Chandler or Major Lance...
Guest in town Mikey Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Gene Chandler?? I'm Just a fool?? Dont know how that could make him proud tho?
Guest in town Mikey Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Dayo. if by chance I did hit with my shot in the dark, you are going to have to choose another. i have just finished for the day. oh the trials of a civil servant. have a good weekend everybody. Mikey
Dayo Posted October 29, 2004 Author Posted October 29, 2004 Maybe it wasn't so easy after all. Here's a link to the song Mystery Lyric Keen to get this thread going coz I'm sure it'll be fun; so here's another one that is, as my kids would say, pipsy... "Here I am, standing at the bus station, suitcase in my hand..." Remember, the idea is to find a lyric that's teasing, not to pick obscure album tracks or acetate only songs
