Vinyl Detector; Northern & Modern Soul

Hi Soul Diggers, wouldn't it be great if someone invented a vinyl detector? It'd be able to unearth all those rarities you're still looking for that have been lying around unplayed for decades. Our resident boffins are still working on it but when we set the proto-type model to 7":Northern/Modern, here's what they found:

4. Hung Up On Your Love (wrongly titled as "How Can One Man Live", an earlier release) / Make Up For Lost Time - THE MONTCLAIRS (Paula).............Mint-................check your Manship price guide to see the odd-ness of this gem, the detector gave off some very pleasing bleeps when in close proximity to it..........£45

5. The Price Of Love - LITTLE SHERMAN & THE MOD SWINGERS (ABC)...............VG++................£25

6. Little School Girl / Rain In My Eyes - MICHAEL & THE CONTINENTALS (Audio Fidelity).............Mint-.......£75

7. The Trouble With Girls - JAMES CONWELL (4-J Records)..............VG++.............£90

8. No Sign Of Sadness / Girl Of My Heart - BULL & THE EL CAPALARA'S (Bell)...........VG++..............£20

9. Won't You Let Me Know - J.J. BARNES (Kable)..............Mint-...........early, upbeat R&B/Northern Soul dancer in style adopted by Eddie Holland, Marv Johnson and Jackie Wilson circa 1961/62, nice rare 'un.............£35

10. Let Me Go - BIG MAYBELLE (Port)...............VG++.....................great, big-voiced singer who doesn't stay un-collected for long, anything spotted always worth having, vinyl-detector's saying "Buy Now"........£30

11. Jilted - SPENCER STERLING (Big Top demo)...........Mint-............some call it Popcorn but this new-fangled vinyl detector indicates "Northern Soul Beat Ballad much beloved by late-night cats everywhere"................£45

12. I Got To Love You Baby - JESSE BOONE & THE ASTROS (Soul-Po-Tion)............VG++...........straight outta the attic, this will please anyone who's purchased that Joe Valentine biggie "Lost The Only Love I Ever Had", the detector's needle is on green for "Positive Gem Found"........................£25

13. I Can't Help Myself - CHUCK CARTER (Brunswick)..............VG++..............Wow! The handle to this vinyl detector's gone red-hot, needle indicates "Stomper Supreme Rival DJ's Beware: Dancefloor Stampede".......................£20

14. High Note / That One - THE FANTASTICS (Sound Stage 7 demo)..............VG++..................two great sides here......................£70

15. Going, Going, Gone - CODY BLACK (Ram-Brock).............Mint-..............plenty of bleeps for this one as the meter reads "Undeniable Northern Soul Classic" then veers towards "Bargain".......................£20
