Floyd.

Are you on Facebook? There is a Yate page on there with all the details. Plus loads of great photo's, and posts of some of the old Yate faves.

Just type in Yate to the search at the top and it should take you there.

Dave Thorley is doing it with Mike Eskins and Leon Brown 's help I think. Dave's on here. So is Hippo, so I think there should be something on here somewhere.

As far as I know Clarkie isnt available due to health issues. Most of the other regulars all appear to be on.

I cant acess FB at the minute, but if memory serves, the date is Friday May 23rd. The day before the Oddfellows reunion niter  (Not 100% about that tho) :(

The venue is the nightclub next to the swimming pool in Gloucester where they used to have alldayers in the 80s.

When I get home tonight I will post up actual details for you bud. Unless someone else sees this and can do it before me.

Very much doubt Clarkie will turn up. I've spoken to him once or twice as he lives near me and he has given up DJing as far as I know..

Here's a listing of DJs that Dave Thorley posted in a thread from 2007:

Some a bit confused by all that went on there, and that's no great suprised. Three/four different promoters, two venues, lots of dj's so here's a bit of a breakdown (best I can remember, with a few spelling mistakes) and I might have missed the odd dj.

Started at Stars & Strips (Two rooms, main room northern, upstairs funk) finished at The Baths as a one room event.
Dj's
Kojak
Pep
Blue Max
Steve Smith
Marc Mouise
Dave Thorley
Mac
Soul Twins
Brian S
Dave Godin (Twice)
Bob Mean
Smokey
Richard Marsh

Southern Soul Club-Dinks
Stars & Strips, Sterling Suite
DJ's
Ian Clark
Tony Ellis
Paul Guntrip & Jacko
Roch & Bob
Dave Greet
Hippo
Mac
Dave Thorley
Shay
Soul Sam (Guest)
Tony Warrott

South West Soul Club-Nick Mcavoy
Stars & Strips, Sterling Suite
DJ's
Nick Mcavoy
Ian Clark
Tony Ellis
Dave Thorley
Hippo
Dave Greet
Ady Pountain
Dave Withers
Gary Rushbrooke
Paul Guntrip & Jacko (I think)
Andy Golding

Stars & Strips Management (last few)

Dave Withers
Gary Rushbrooke

Cheers for the info, wow what a memory , i went to all the events at the sterling suite under various promoters

so theres a few names there ivè forgotten over the years as some of them may have been guests rather than regulars

the ones i definately remember were Ian clark, Dave thorley , Hippo , Dave greet , Ady pountain ,Tony Ellis , Steve Smith (guest dj)

Dave Withers, Mac ,obviously my memories not as good as i thought as i dont remember  some of the names mentioned

Sadly, it's not my memory - it's Dave Thorley's from an earlier thread.

Living in Southampton, at the time, I went reasonably regularly - certainly for the first two incarnations and remember a lot of the DJs but there's no way I could have written a list like Dave's. It's too long ago and I've done so much since!
