Dwr Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Not many Jr Walker tracks mentioned - his version of These things will keep me loving you has been favourite for a while. Mind you it will be another artist and track soon
Back Street Blue Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Not many Jr Walker tracks mentioned - his version of These things will keep me loving you has been favourite for a while. Mind you it will be another artist and track soon It was a toss-up between the miracles and Junior's road runner for me
Mike Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 just a quick word on the counting side see a few have made more than one choice in posts if thats the case then when counting it may be best to just count the first posted one as the vote that way memebrs still get a vote and they also have a chance to edit if they want another track counted or left if happy with the first one does that make sense ?
Chalky Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 A few ric tics creeping in ;) Yep. Ric Tic isn't Motown, it was a rival label. 1

carlos63 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Always loved the faster "Detroit Prophets " Suspicion boot myself , but as mines on soul beat records -guess it doesnt count !!!! So after much deliberation ,gone with The Temptations - Get Ready

Mr Smithy Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Velvelettes - Needle in a haystack Funny how when you're a kid ( and even now sometimes ) something you hear once and sticks and sticks and you never ever get tired of it. Top shelf toe tapper. I've often though for all the great rare/ obscure records we listen to some records were hits for a reason and deservedly so. ( admitted that some were'nt, but that's another story) Has there been a worst record on Motown thread? Couldn't find one.
Rick Smith Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Originals suspision or could we have Fantastic Four Can't Stop looking For My Baby? I know it wasRic Tic but it was released on the Motown Ric Tic relics. Superb.
Codfromderby Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 sorry changed my mindhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADlToX3i7KE 2

Guest ukyclub Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 jeez I hate these polls... is it just me cos I cannot list favourites be it northern, rare, deep whatever ...just too many to list.
Addio Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I'm 56 now and Motown has been a backdrop to my life - Good times, Bad times, Happy times and Sad times. Hard to select a number one track for each act, let alone overall but I'll go for the magical Marvin Gaye and Inner City Blues (Make me wanna holler). Sheer poetry. Relevant in '71, still relevant today?
JOHNNYBETCHA Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Close call for me - between Miracles Tracks of my Tears, Four Tops Baby I Need Your Lovin, and the superlative Suspicion, but I'll give it to the Isley's This Old Heart Of Mine - the first of my many, many TMG purchases!
Wilxy Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Very very difficult shout, but I'll have to go with the Elgins-Heaven must have sent you....
Guest aintgotit Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 three from the temps . My girl and aint too proud to beg. . and cloud nine.

Dave Harrison Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Four Tops - As the Lonely https://youtu.be/whQeExFbpn8 even better live!
Hill868 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 What about ' I'll be doggone ' Marvin Gaye, absolutely fabulous Northern/ Motown sound, from one of the very best genius black male vocalists ever, fantastic enduring 60's soul !
Backflipboy Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Edwin Starr - Headline News ..... Always puts a smile on my face and a spring in my step !
