God all feckin' mighty..

The pantomime scene goes from strength to strength..

Dressing up like a throwback with no regard to musical integrity, quality, diversity and of course format.

Just watched the One Show. and my verdict? Un-fookin-believable!!!!!!

I can't believe that Bristol people actually paid more for their meals in the 'pay what you like' scheme. Always found them a bunch of tightwads when trading down there.

Oh and the monkeys were amusing too!

I think anyone who's moaning about a bit of lightweight tea-time fare on BBC1 in 2014 obviously never experienced the humiliation of trying to explain why Wigan's Ovation wasn't indicative of Northern Soul following their Top Of The Pops appearance almost 40 years ago. This was tame in comparison believe me. At least the One Show finished with Lorraine Chandler!

Shocking,disgusting,...........£1.50 for a crisp sandwich.? Tell you what though, and don't tell the missus, but Lisa Stansfield is still all woman.

The film clip looked interesting. Some of the usual suspects on the dancefloor.

Can we move on now.?

Don't panic.........the one shows shit & no one watches it............I bet there's one tosser at work who does watch it & he'll tell the rest of the lads & they'll love taking the piss :(

Missed the beginning of the programme and turned it on to a bit about adopting an old guy and taking him out for a pint.  I wondered where the music was.

As it turned out that was the only bit worth watching unless you like elephants.

What is this obsession with putting Northern Soul in the" shop window"......if you do that then its up there to be shot at...cannot help thinking there is a bit of "look at me" about it.

Does not make me want to follow it..makes me want to leave it...but I wont because I love the music.

Embarrassing that, whats with all those fancy dress outfits, and really old people doing backdrops?  :dash2:

One step forward (the movie) & three steps back (the media coverage).

........Same as it ever was.

So anybody got anything good to say about it then ?

I enjoyed it, yeah, quite a few embarrassing bits, but I did like seeing folk that I know shuffling away.

It wasn't meant to be a documentary, just light hearted entertainment, & if it helps the film "Northern Soul" be a success, then fair play.

The scene portrayed is a million miles away from the scene that I grew up in during the mid 80's/early 90's, but it's clearly a scene that, in the main, many young folk/returnees feel a big part of now, so good luck to them, let them enjoy their soul journey, as I enjoyed mine, & as I'm still enjoying away from the TV cameras

Regards

Ali

The young blokes were great dancers though.

This is the final proof surely that the only way the dance side of this scene will ever translate to film, is via stylish, fit, attractive and passionate youngsters.

Get ready for the Facebook backlash against "Soul Source slagging off the One Show", after all, we can't say anything good about anything can we, nasty bastards that we are...

I had two choices , watch Emmerdale or got to the pub for a pint . Choose the later and they had it on the TV . got chucked out for being in the cellar .
