Mal C Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 was there a June Jackson connection here? didn't the Bootleggers sing on one of his tunes?
Wrongcrowd Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 It's a June Jackson produced tune Mal, the flip is instrumental tracks "Soul Of A Sort" credited to June Jackson & The Soul Sounds.
Chalky Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 (edited) June Jackson did the arrangement as well. fabulous 45 although a little slow for today. Edited March 23, 2014 by chalky
Wrongcrowd Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 The lead sounds just like Anita May on Audio Forty. 1
Garethx Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 There's some good information on the record and on Cathy Carlson herself via Anthony Reichardt's great youtube channel here. A good example of an artist who had a pretty long career on major labels, working with some top names without ever really having anything approaching a hit single.
