Mclemore Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 now, don't get too excited. It is cracked all the way to the dead wax, but plays through with some clicks throughout nearly the entire track. Planned on keeping it but realized it seems silly to just have it sitting in a box and I know there has to be someone out there to whom this is more valuable to than me... please make your offer considering a paypal gift payment. I will mail with low customs price, no worries. 2
Phil Shields Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 any chance of a sound clip to hear how it plays ?
Dobber Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 what a bloody shame about the crack, looks like its in really good condition too. still worth a tidy sum though! 2
Tony Smith Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Yes, that is a real shame as you can hear every click come around :-(
John A Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Thank god for tinnitus,,low fi and knackered records always sound good to my ears!! lol.....honestly, the sound clip didn't sound too bad to me 1
Gibby Gibby Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Wow now when people quote rare this is.... and a one off in this state..... still must be 4 figures good look . when does it finnish????
Chalky Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 How bad is the crack, hairline, all the way through from edge to edge?
NEV Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Try to think of it as a expansion joint,it eases the conscience ;) The click ain't enough to spoil the sound either. 1
hullsoul Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I'd love to know how many of us are sat thinking...........is it that bad, wonder how much it'll go for? It's probably the nearest any of us will ever get to even thinking about bidding one one...........in truth I think it'll go for more then a pint & a packet of crisps so I'm out Cheers Martyn
boba Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 and a one off in this state..... this makes it sound like you're saying the crack makes it more valuable because it's rarer cracked
Peter99 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 this makes it sound like you're saying the crack makes it more valuable because it's rarer cracked I think Gibby was saying that it "looks" in great condition - apart from the crack. Peter
boba Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I think Gibby was saying that it "looks" in great condition - apart from the crack. Peter that makes more sense, i misunderstood the "state" part, sorry 1

Dobber Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I feel your pain Dabber and frustration. But if it helps, check to see if he has actually read your message yeah nev, its been read, aswell as an inquiry regarding offers of money and trades, ive also requested a full pic of the entire record, both sides
Guest Bearsy Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I had a reply and a polite one too so maybe he is inundated with offers or just busy.
Mclemore Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 hello, sorry for my delay in getting back to you all, but I had to unexpectedly go out of town for a family matter. I will be back in town Friday. On Friday I will update everyone who asked for updates and make a decision during the weekend. Thanks for your interest. 3
John Parker Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 this makes it sound like you're saying the crack makes it more valuable because it's rarer crackedCould well be..seen more non cracked than cracked copies 3
Dave Pinch Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 rarer cracked...but will it end up being cheaper
Mclemore Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 Hello, my inbox is full of offers. Forgive me if I haven't responded to you. The current highest offer is 2000GBP, which is approaching non cracked value. Anyway, I will still accept offers through the weekend, and I will make my decision on March 25th. Thanks.
Lionelonthevinyl Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Like the 'big lads' post these records aren't showing up much at the mo, probably why this is nearly up to the value of a non cracked sample of the same record...mad, bloody good record though....Rob
Labeat Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I assume the winner of the tune will be delighted to have paid a fortune for a cracked record....
Peter99 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I assume the winner of the tune will be delighted to have paid a fortune for a cracked record.... Of course they will. Why else would they be bidding? Just saying like. Peter

whereismy record Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) Due to the SS site being down when bidding was to close, Is this still open for bids Edited March 26, 2014 by whereismy record
Mclemore Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 hello, since SS has been down for a couple days, I am going to extend the bidding until the 28th. Forgive me if I haven't responded to your PM yet. This site was even a little glitchy for me today.
Mclemore Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 Hi guys...I've decided to do a trade/sale with someone coming through town next month. I would much prefer to not deal with mail, especially sending something overseas for something that someone that would spend that money on and also eliminating paypal from the equation is a nice bonus as well. Thank you for the extremely generous offers.

Thank you for the extremely generous offers. Once the deal is completed are you prepared to reveal (in pounds) the value of the trade/sale ? I'm sure some on here would appreciate that as it's created serious interest, we know it reached at least 2K. Thanks 1

Petebangor Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 I think you're being a bit harsh there Pete. If I was selling an item for £2k , I would certainly feel a lot more comfortable with meeting with someone face to face, handing over over the item and receiving the cash, rather than sending it halfway around the world, with the possibility of it being lost, damaged, a possible scam for chargeback, and save on the paypal fees too. A no brainer!

A no brainer! Yeah, probably Pete - in hindsight. I'll edit it. Thanks Peter
