Guest MBarrett Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Wow I hadn't seen that before. For me 110 minutes of music heaven. I feel humble
Winsford Soul Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I.'ve recorded it so I can watch it when I get back from Prestatyn. Steve
Seano Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Recorded it and hoping to watch it later. Great that documentaries of this sort get made and aired.
Roburt Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 A brilliant documentary that really showcases the classic music made in Muscle Shoals.
Popular Post Chalky Posted March 8, 2014 Popular Post Posted March 8, 2014 Could have done without Bonio....did he ever record there? I could understand the Stones input. But if it helps get the message out then all well and good. Apart from that it was a fantastic documentary a real insight into the studios and what came out of them. If you haven't already you need to go and buy all the cd's Kent have issued from the Fame vaults, some superb music, released and unreleased. 7

Back Street Blue Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Cracker.....loved it Never knew Helen Keller was from Muscle Shoals!!...remember watching a movie about her life when I was a kid......scared me to death. Would have liked to have seen some footage of Millie Jackson.......they could have cut out that Irish dude with the permanent sun-glasses to make room for Millie instead 1
Mrtag Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Documentary premier on above on BBC 4 tonight 9 till 10-50 pm then on again at 0200. Thanks for the heads up!! Great programme
Drew3 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Watched this in the early hours of Sat morning; one of the best music documentaries I've ever seen. It's going to be shown again on BBC4 and BBC4 HD at ten past midnight tonight. Well worth staying up for or taping. Regards. Drew.
Rich B Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 A big 'ditto' to all that's gone before - absorbing and awesome.
Pete S Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Thought it dragged on a bit. I've got a colour documentary on the Fame Studios from circa 1970 which I enjoyed more. Still, another great documentary from BBC 4.
Neil Marsh Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Obviously Bono had nowt to do with Muscle Shoals but he's there to make the doc saleable to the kind of clowns for whom "I've never heard of them/it" is a reason not to watch rather than the best reason in the world to widen your horizons. Tiresome but understandable.....it's all about the Benjamins, baby! 1

Tiresome but understandable.....it's all about the Benjamins, baby! Does Bonio carry any clout with the kids of today? He doesn't with Ellie or any of her mates and I would imagine it would be the same for most generations unless you like U2??

Neil Marsh Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Well, they are possibly the biggest rock band in the world, and his name is recognised by just about everyone. Like TV execs and distributors. Like I said, it's about money, not taste or relevance.
Sean Hampsey Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) The Movie is Superb! The place itself is Magical! A couple of pics of me and Tats from a few years ago... trying to pass off as Dan and Spooner... Sean Edited March 10, 2014 by Sean Hampsey 1
