Denbo Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Not seen one of these before. Well, not until now. And it's been 'hidden' in my collection for years.
Denbo Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 That's a mid 1950's sleeve from Capitol. Figured it could be as early as that.
Prophonics 2029 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) Think I have a few of these with coloured red or blue discs. Edited February 26, 2014 by Prophonics 2029
Denbo Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Just in case it wasn't originally clear, I am referring to the detachable corner tab and not the fact it's a nice 50s company sleeve
The Yank Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Columbia also had the detachable corner on their 50's sleeves.
Denbo Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Columbia also had the detachable corner on their 50's sleeves. Great, thanks for letting me know that. What was the intention of the detachable corner?
The Yank Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Maybe the idea was for the Record Store clerk to detach the corner and it would be easierto know what was selling?90% of the time I see these sleeves- a) the corner is still attached and b) there isno info filled out on them.

The Record Store clerks weren't doing a very good job then were they?
