Ed Brown: The Fruit Of My Labors (MRC / Major) M- / M- in shrink £75

Sharp copy of this obscure custom LP from Virginia, featuring the awesome ‘80s / modern soul track “She’s So Fine”. Recommended.

The Blue Notes: The Back Room (Proctor & Blue) EX / VG £40

Obscure Bahamian / Miami LP with the absolutely tremendous High Flying Bird. Clean disc, sleeve is ok — some wear and a partial spine split.

Twilight: Pains Of Love (Ross) M- / M- £40

Excellent modern soul set, solid stuff throughout.

Marcel Evans: Going Places (Sapphire) EX / EX £150

Hard to find modern soul / boogie LP from Charlotte, NC. The track Will You Show Up in particular is an excellent dancer. Clean disc, not far from M-. Sleeve has a slight bend — it’s in shrink, which has been partially torn away by the artist who has written the following message on the front cover: “To Ron and Betty — The symbol of my life is my song. The symbol of my love is the rose. These things I give to you because I care. Marcel Evans”

The Gospelaires of Dayton, Ohio: Rest For The Weary (Savoy) EX / VG £40

Obscure gospel LP containing the modern soul banger No Where To Run. Clean disc, but a fair bit of light wear to the cover.

Tyrone Thomas & The Whole Darn Family: Has Arrived (Soul International) EX / EX £25

First pressing, nice 70s LP from August Moon and co. with the different version of Seven Minutes Of Funk & more. Disc is fairly close to M-, sleeve has minor wear only.

Harris & Orr: Spread Love (Sunstar) sealed £275

It would be impossible to find a nicer copy of this masterpiece. Factory sealed with original price sticker. No corner dinks or any other wear. Perfect!

Syl Johnson: Is It Because I’m Black (Twinight) VG+ / EX £200

Decent copy of this grail. Only minor wear to the vinyl, plays well as you can hear. Multicoloured label. The sun in the sunset has a discreet “DJ” in red pen. The sleeve looks great, no flaws.
