Steve G Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 What a record , first heard this played by Poke .. then it moved onto Sam , then Ian Clark , and then back to Sam ... Agreed top sound, top guitar solo too. And you'd be hard pushed to find a better modern deep soul side on the flip. Been top of my wants list for several years now.

Guest Trevski Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) Wouldn't upload as MP4 will try MP3! I really like it. Agreed the guitar is a bit grating, but those horns on the intro just make me smile! So uplifting and joyful. Great! Edited June 11, 2008 by Trevski
Ncfc Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 What a record , first heard this played by Poke .. then it moved onto Sam( via John Anderson) , then Ian Clark , and then back to Sam ...You missed me out Simon,(between sam and clarkie) sold it to ian for£150
Steve G Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 You missed me out Simon,(between sam and clarkie) sold it to ian for£150 ...and eventually onto me......then the 2nd copy turned up this year. It';s a record I never tire off even if I am not playing it out much these days.
Simon T Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 ...and eventually onto me......then the 2nd copy turned up this year. does the 2nd copy have a label that's not had the address scratched out?
Steve G Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 does the 2nd copy have a label that's not had the address scratched out? Yes the label won't be scratched out. BTW King Moses died soon after making the record.
Simon M Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) Yes the label won't be scratched out. BTW King Moses died soon after making the record. Who got the second copy then ? Edited June 11, 2008 by Simon M
Simon T Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Yes the label won't be scratched out. BTW King Moses died soon after making the record. I take it Steve, that your copy is the 'original' with the address scratched out? If so, who has the recently dicovered one?
Steve G Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I take it Steve, that your copy is the 'original' with the address scratched out? If so, who has the recently dicovered one? Yes my one is the one that's been passed around about 20 people......and yet it still plays brilliantly. All I'll say is the 2nd copy is in Europe (not UK). The owner is on here and if he wants he can come on. I am sure some of you will hear him play it soon enough though
Marc Forrest Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I am sure some of you will hear him play it soon enough though Wouldn`t bet on that ...
Guest Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Listen to any Van Halen track for an idea of how the guitar solo in this track goes. Terrible..... No way!!!... 1 - Eddie Van Halen is an amazing guitarist and would be a much better job than that!.. 2 - Great track....best bit is the guitar solo...not bad for a soul record...shame most people fade it out at that point, though I accept you can't dance to a guitar solo like that. Great record. Might ask Neil Jones to give it a spin at the next Bury...if he's still got one. Jayne.x.
Soulof Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 No way!!!... 1 - Eddie Van Halen is an amazing guitarist and would be a much better job than that!.. was goin to ask if it was Joe Satriani on guitars but someone before... grt solo and track !
Docfish Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Yes, it's me who found the second copy. With intact labels, straight from the states ..... In my humble opinion, it's a fantastic and unique piece of soulmusic and the guitar solo makes it even more unique . Same as Jerry Washington "Don't waste my time", i can't even imagine these tunes without the "heavy" guitar playing .... Totally agree on the great flip, regards, Lars

Docfish Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Louisville /Kentucky. It's his wife and his daughter singing the backings. Someone else on this board once talked to the producer of the record a few years ago, but he couldn't remember the real name of King Moses

Simon M Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Would like to see a scan Lars, please! A Scan of the b-side would be nice
Steve G Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 A Scan of the b-side would be nice Lars has the other copy in Germany - a tremendous find on ebay. All the other copies that DJs play out are carvers - would a scan of a carver suffice Simon, in which case I am sure there are several who can supply it
