Popular Post Quinvy Posted February 17, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2014 What a ridiculous statement. The seller is a well respected collector/dealer. I think the Mel Britt is over price now, but the Del Larks will go much higher. People with money seem to be investing in rare vinyl, more especially the big ticket Wigan classics. Could make £5k 4
Jim G Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 John tefteller is THE most respected seller on ebay IMHO
Guest Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Delarks is cheap at present & agree it should sell over £5k the seller is a top dealer and been around for years wish id got that sort of money great copy
Frankie Crocker Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 both look abit dodgey You can't be serious... John is the absolute tops in the world of rare records.
Popular Post Stanley Posted February 17, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2014 john is probably one of the most genuine respected sellers on the planet......there seems to be alot of people on here who don,t know what the hell they are talking about ? don,t look a pratt if you don,t need to 12
Guest normokeh Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 both look abit dodgey i have had lot of rare records from John ' his grading is always spot on and probably the most honest dealer i have known .

Dunno why but I fell quite cheated now. Paul? Back on track 2 nice records. Peter
Popular Post Dobber Posted February 18, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 18, 2014 im assuming that 'wigan bob' has said many insulting to the bone remarks over the four years he has been registered? i didnt realise you can be thrown off here for saying what you think,im a little concerned because this particular statement 'both look a bit dodgy' it is possible he doesnt know who the seller is,and both them records have been booted to look identical to the originals, especially the mel britt....just seems a bit harsh to throw him off,ive certainly seen the words 'looks a bit dodgy' many times on here regarding dubious looking records, and to be fair,it sometimes helps the less knowlageble! i do hope this staement isnt gonna see me with an eviction notice...haha 4

John is a top dealer and his livelihood and reputation depend upon flawless transactions. Members should think carefully before posting unfunny comments that could have damaging consequences. Maybe Wigan Bob should sharpen his wit on eBay and the dozens of bootleg sellers it ignores... Edited February 18, 2014 by FRANKIE CROCKER
Raresoul45s Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Although knowledgeable and respected John T is, it was him who said there's no money in soul records many moons ago, of course he's quickly recognised his mistake and supplies some of the finest 45s, the two mentioned above being prime examples of the quality he brings to the market. Mel Britt I would not be surprised to see it over £2K and Del Larks over £6K imho to answer the question Cheers Darren 2

Raresoul45s Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 It was Tefteller who did nothing but slag soul collectors off for many years, especially the Brits, and other collector of other genres. Yes Chalky I was trying to be diplomatic but you put it very succinctly, that said I got great stuff from him in the 80s. Darren
Pete S Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 It was Tefteller who did nothing but slag soul collectors off for many years, especially the Brits, and other collector of other genres. Yes he did. But his product is superb. I think most people know Wigan Bob wasn't being serious though. 2
Dobber Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 maybe a quiet word behind the scenes would have been enough, maybe soul source needs a warning indicator along with the feedback button etc...
Mike Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 maybe a quiet word behind the scenes would have been enough, maybe soul source needs a warning indicator along with the feedback button etc... did you read my last post ? as i said then post up in the support forum and will reply to any concerns etc

Darren It's the Yorkshire blood, straight to the point. Don't doubt his product but he soon changed tack when he knew there was money to be made out of the Brits. 2

Guest Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Del-Larks.......in that condition it will top 5 grand easy. Mel Britt is about right for the condition but you never know these days, there are some dafties about as we`ve seen with Buddy Ace, Constellations etc.
Frankie Crocker Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Del Larks could reach 7K and Mel Britt 2K. The condition of the Del Larks is perfect - has been rated a 5 grand record for years. Mel Britt always seems to fetch a four figure sum but records of this stature are in such short supply that even an Excellent copy could go beyond Price Guide levels.
Guest gordon russell Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 del larks is rare due to the amount pressed up..............had a chance of a demo....once umm

Chris L Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I never used to like the Del-larks much, thought it was too messy but after seeing them sing it live I quite like it now
Ian Parker Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Stunning record is The Del Larks..... Worth every penny! On a side note, only just noticed that She'll come running back is the B side? 2

Greety Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 For such a supposedly rare record (even though its one of my all time top ten) there were three copies in Southampton, early eighties.
Trev Thomas Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 For such a supposedly rare record (even though its one of my all time top ten) there were three copies in Southampton, early eighties. hi dave, there certainly was,all within a ten minute walk of each other,
Marc Forrest Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 it wouldn't surprise me if the price goes even dafter given the 3 people that for reasons better known to themselves keep bumping the price up with loads of time left , very strange Three bidders with zero feedback (in other words new accounts/no transactions so far) are amongst them bidder id's that have bidded this item up. strange. 1
Stanley Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 guys, don,t want to really discuss, but i,m one of the high bidders with loads of feedback, nothing dodgey about it.
Epic Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 One came out of Sinfonia in Blackpool for 9p around 74 I think. It went to a Wigan DJ in exchange for Jimmy "Soul" Clark & a 7 inch record box !! 2
Frankie Crocker Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Three bidders with zero feedback (in other words new accounts/no transactions so far) are amongst them bidder id's that have bidded this item up. strange. Good luck Stanley. The bidding for both records looks very open with a noticeable lack of Red Star bidders with four figure ratings. Maybe these guys are going to step in at the last moment, but at present, the records look like they're going to younger collectors.

Quinvy Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 The serious buyers never bid early. Snipers are the only way to go. 2

Stanley Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 i,ve only had a sniff of a mint one in 35 years, thought i got it , but clarkie had an 11hr offer that pipped me..........

Frankie Crocker Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 del larks is rare due to the amount pressed up..............had a chance of a demo....once umm John Manship had a black DJ copy for sale at Cleethorpes over 10 years ago, presumably the one featured in the Million Dollars of Rare Soul book. It was the most coveted record for sale that weekend priced at 3K or thereabouts - remember Greg Tormo drooling over it. In those days, the rarest records were hung on the wall in transparent wallets but they kept falling down. 1
