Tommy1 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Anyone have the 45 discography for this label? It was distributed by Amherst records, but not sure where the Gold Plate was from.

Tommy1 Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 Only this https://www.45cat.com/label/gold-plate Does not say where the label is from.
Sebastian Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Seems to be from Akron, Ohio. Many of the releases on the label are by roughly the same bunch of people recording under different names. More info here: https://www.buckeyebeat.com/harmonics.html Edited February 17, 2014 by Sebastian 1

John Benson Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I tend to agree with Sebastian. That article seems to tell most about it - apart from a full Gold Plate label discography. But it looks to cover quite a few of them. It states that it's the Groups own label. "Blind over you" is a lovely ballad The numbering has big gaps though, I wonder how many there are, or are they Amherst numbers? 1
Guest Dave Turner Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Don't know where I got it from but have this piccy on my lappy

Marc Forrest Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 The nucleus of the Chicago Gangsters were the Harmonics who were the McCants Brothers who at one time featured Junior McCants.. I once wrote a complete story about this all here on soul source. I am sure a quick sera h will lead you to it. 1
