Hi

I realise this is a weird time to be sending out a list but I've got to get everything done before Thursday really as it's my mates funeral so I thought if I do the list early it would give me a chance to get everything sorted. Thanks so much to everyone who sent messages of sympathy for Paul, I've collected everything up for his parents. Also thanks for the donations for those albums last week, most offers were very fair and I took them. The guy who offered 15 quid for a 75 quid album is not on the list any more! Also if anyone needs a lift to the funeral on Thursday - from Wolverhampton station for instance - I'd be happy to pick them up.

Right anyway some nice Northern rarities here PLUS a very unusual one for me, some 70's and crossover things as well.

Hope you find something of interest.

I should be available tonight up to about 8 o clock and tomorrow from 10 til say 8 again.

Oh one more thing - everyone who pays by card, streamline are now making me input the three digit code off the back of the card so I'll need that as well from now on

Cheers

Pete

Pete , innocent but serious question here, and this is not meant to cast any aspersions on you specifically, but as you're a well known and respected dealer, I'm curious as to your opinion ...

If a record has cue burn, do you down grade the condition of the record ? In other words if it LOOKS mint but has cue burn do you give it only an Exc grade or VG+ or whatever ...

If a dealer sells a record with cue burn but does NOT mention that when he sells it , is the existence of cue burn alone a valid reason for a purchaser to return the record ?

Butting in, don't mind me...but the answer is yes. All records for sale should be PLAY graded as well, since that's what you do with a record...PLAY it. If a seller doesn't mention it, then he is being dishonest. All IMO, of course! ph34r.gif

If a record has cue burn it has to be mentioned, as does styrene noise, which is common - even on mint records you can get styrene noise. I try and play everything, sometimes maybe if it's a big list with a lot of 10 quid records on then some may slip through but I play about 98%. If a record has cue burn I just comment on the burn - for instance, if it starts before the track begins and ends on the first note, I'll still grade it as EX but mention the burn. If it's a significant burn, say 2 seconds or more, I'd probably downgrade it as well as explaining it. The bottom line is, I try to think how I would feel if someone sent me a record and hadn't described a problem - I wouldn't be happy, so I try not to let that situation occur.

Spot on! Doesn't half do my head in when people say that records have been visualy graded. They can tell me that if I want to buy a Picasso.
