Inner City Soul Club Returns In A New London Venue!
we have moved to a new and fantastic venue in London - Duke's
We just want to thank those who have continued to support us since the creation of Inner City Soul club last March and to announce that we have moved to a new and fantastic venue in London - Duke's. The new venue is a short walk from Liverpool St. and Aldgate Stations, and is complete with a large wooden dance floor and incredible sound system.
We have a cracking line up for our next event, which will be running till 6 AM - Lars Bulnheim (flying over all the way from Hamburg), Marco Santucci and Kitch - so we hope to see some of you down there for what promises to be another night of amazing Rare Soul!
Over the past year we have had some fantastic and memorable events, with some of the best DJ’s from Europe including Edu Domingo, Laurent Reus, Malayka and Matt Fox and many others from the UK including Adam Torel, Callum Simpson, Rich Evans and the Va Va Voom boys.
As we are on the younger end of the soul spectrum (Tomas is 22 and James 29) our focus has always been on promoting an event which both appeals to dedicated soul fans but also focuses on creating an atmosphere which encourages a younger generation to enjoy this fantastic music. Consistent with this ideal we have always sought out DJ’s who we believe to be exciting and play the best across the board 60s and 70s soul records out there!
Here are the current favourite spins from the two residents to give you a flavour of the club...
James Pogson:
Ishola Muhammad — “Open Up Your Heart” (Guess)
Little Willie Johnson — “Loneliness” (Vendella’s)
John Harris and the Soul Sayers — “Hangin’ In” (Kerston)
Harvey Scales & the Seven Seas — “Trying To Survive” (Magic Touch)
Mellow Madness — “Save The Youth” (Mega)
Tomas McGrath:
The Soul Injection — “Stay Off The Moon” (Accent)
The Underground Express — “I Never Found A Girl” (U.G.E.)
Kelly & The Soul Explosions — “Talking About My Baby’s Love” (Dynamite)
Charlene & The Soul Serenaders - “Can You Win” (Volt)
Paul Burton — “So Very Hard To Make It (Without You)” (Music-Go-Round)
Once again thanks for the support!
