Guest Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 I came by this vid on youtube: What a fab venue/event! Lovely contemporary feel... I felt as though I wanted to be there Big it up Oslo!
Guest Johnny Mack Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Nice post Soul Girl !! I really enjoyed this and the related videos, esp the Precisions clips and the Northern Soul Patrol - havent seen this in a long while........absolutely priceless stuff. Interesting thing is the age group on the Oslo video and diversity of the records played - these scandinavian kids have to be applauded for their out and out love of soul music as a whole - I sometimes think that we've lost the thread in the UK with soul nights too typecast into a certain category - I recognize this has a draw for affecionados of a certain type or category of soul music but it doesnt drag in any new people and that's what appears to be missing in the UK rare soul scene. If its good soul dance music, it deserves playing, even the funkier tunes. Take care, John I came by this vid on youtube: What a fab venue/event! Lovely contemporary feel... Guest Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Those Precision vids are mine My claim to silly fame LOL. I'd be interested in a jaunt across the cold seas to Oslo to sample their fayre too! Perhaps we could organise a British visit to their shores
Guest Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 THE GUY'S HAVE A GOOD WEB SITE ASWELL,see link https://www.oslosoul.com/index.html cool site although the Anniversary do seems to have been held in a different venu?
Helena Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 cool site although the Anniversary do seems to have been held in a different venu? Yep, different venue for the anniversary, and what a venue! (Just don't forget to bring a lot of talcum powder...) Top night that was, had a great time, well worth the 7-hour trip. Plus they handed out free t-shirts!
Guest Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 I saw them loading the Tee's on the table! The anniversary venue was fanfuckingtastic! They should chose that as the regular spot if it's avail. The attention to detail with the lighting and graphical lighting was superb. Reminded me of Chris and Marcell's do in Manchester.. only been once but the wall graphics kept me mesmerised for hours! It's the New Century I think
