Shinehead Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) Can anyone help me id this record from the lyrics below, a female singer with femme backup 60s, possibly New York, a ballad and could be called Hold On , not the Tommy Hunt song. Seems like you don't love me anymore cause you don't do the things you did before oh tell me why oh why it had to happen this way we've been through so much together you promised to never leave me never now your gone and there's nothing left to hold on to hold on it hold on it SECOND VERSE You didn't do all the the things you promised to do , oh no i'll take you back and do ever you want me to do let's try it over again and again cause you got my love in the palm of your hand oh but i love you and want you for always and forever darling but baby , baby you know i love you baby . baby, baby i want you to be my guide Thanks any input would be appreciated Edited February 5, 2014 by shinehead

Shinehead Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Still no answer on this one yet, arrrrggghhhhh doing my nut as well No answer as yet , loads of views and I'm surprised no one has put us out of our misery. I f**king hate this sort of thing
Shinehead Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Is it defo penned by van mccoy and 1965 I don,t think it is a Van McCoy song and the year not sure but it sounds mid sixties. The singers voice is so familiar it is driving me crazy but I have never been much cop at recognising anything but the obvious singers.
Guest Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Can't get a sound clip for it any help on that, but the lyrics are so familiar
Shinehead Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Can't get a sound clip for it any help on that, but the lyrics are so familiar The link on Dave Turners post is working, or it is for me. If the link doesn't work go to the official Van McCoy site click on discography and 60s and look for the song Hold On and press the note to play song.
Shinehead Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Tried that no joy Try pressing the play button a few times it does not always play first time
Shinehead Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Think cause I'm on an iPad it doesn't work
