Agent45 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I was just listening to Freddie Wilson's "I Can't Believe" where he sings the line "I put a tap on your telephone, baby", which has me thinking that there have to be plenty more soul tunes that may cross an uncomfortable line into stalker territory, along with Theresa Lindsey's "Gotta Find A Way" and Diabolics' "I Bet You Never Knew". What would you add to the list?
boba Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Young Ladies "I'm tired of running around": I'm gonna pick up no your tail just like a bloodhound / Then i'm gonna tap you on your shoulder when you think i'm not around / Then I'm gonna look into your eyes / and I'll say to you we are through / I'm so tired of running after you 1

Guest MrC Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Is this not turning out almost the same as the Worst Soul Chat-Up Line thread? Looks very similar to me... Edited January 28, 2014 by MrC
Cover-up Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Tony Middleton's "To The Ends Of The Earth" is the ultimate stalker record: "To the ends of the earth I’ll follow my star To the ends of the earth just to be where you are No matter where you roam I’ll never be far behind Who cares where the path may wind As long as I find you. Though the melody dies, the song lingers on And a thousand goodbyes won’t convince me you’re gone I’ll follow you, my love, you’ll never be free To the ends of the earth till you’ve given your love to me. GET THAT MAN A RESTRAINING ORDER! Imagine the boot was on the other foot? You've told your girlfriend a thousand times it's over, you move to Australia and there she is - you'll never be free....
Guest Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) I`ll sneak up behind you in the dark of night with my chloroform rag.........then.......I`m gonna take you to the woodshed, and drop a couple of planks on you!!! Edited January 28, 2014 by Guest

Agent45 Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 In case you haven't heard that Diabolics track:
Guest Ivor Jones Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 My nomination would be Ben E King's Deep Soul masterpiece "Its All Over"……."Outside her window, thats where I am every night and everyday"…..Which shows that even Soul legends such as Ben are prone to inappropriate and menacing behaviour when they don't get their own way. Definitely got stalking tendencies. Note to the Ladies…….Avoid at all costs.
Geeselad Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 its not only a male passtime, what about 'it'll never be over for me' obvious but fits the bill.
boba Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 must i kill her is one of the most messed up soul 45s ever

Guest soulchasers Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 i thought the lyrics from The Lovelites - Love So Strong were a bit dark... "open your door, turn on your light, look in your room and there out of sight is me" hmmm bunny boiler alert....
