Thomas Lord Duckett - Open up your eyes - Razz / VG+ / £250 (Popular modern soul dancer for the last couple of years and a former cover up. Vinyl has a very light warp and some light scuffs, plays well. Silver label vinyl issue copy.)

Chuck Strong — You beat me at my game — Music Mountain / VG / £150 (Great modern soul dancer! Very rare first label and with a slightly different version with added girl chorus to the later Venture release. VG with some light occasional background noise only, fine for DJing. Second copy I’ve ever seen, other one is in my collection.)

A Missin’ Linc, Ltd. - My love - Swap / EX / £100 (Rare modern soul with a slight disco feel to it. Label has a little peal up on one side.)

 

Velvet Hammer - Happy / Party hardy - Soozi / VG+ / £100 (Two great Chicago modern soul dancer. “Happy” being currently heavily indemand. Beige/pink label vinyl copy. Not a perfect copy -  it plays with a little crackle in intro and outro on both sides and label has some discreet staining.)

 

Harvey Averne Band - Love never stays the same - Fania / EX / £100 (Crossover soul indemander.)

Edee Leatherwood - Make it last - Chi Heat / EX / £100 (Dead rare first release on this legendary label, later released as Edee on the Ica label. Stunning two stepper. Two X on label written with a ball point pen.)

 

Sons of Kingdom - Modernization - K.O.G. / EX / £100 (Classic club track that hardly needs a presentation. Very hard to find in this clean condition now.)

High Society - I can’t believe - U.S.A. / EX / £50 (Lovely midtempo modern with some Marvin Gaye undertones. Same recording as the one released as Velvet Hammer. Label has two stars written on it, similiar to the pic on youtube.)

 

Marsha Wilson - Love is gonna get you - Quadrastone / EX / £50 (Just lovely LA soul with some psychadelic undertones. A firm fave!)

Electrifying Cashmeres - What does it take / Ooh I love you - Sound Stage 7 / EX / £50 (For me the best version of this well covered track. Ultra soulful crossover dancer, backed with a superb ballad as well. Plays with a second long cue burn a couple of seconds in on the “What does..”-side.. Price reduced.)

Quickest Way Out — Hello stranger — Karen / EX / £50 (Rare and good 1974 version.)
Carolyn Crawford - If you move, you lose - PIR / EX / £50 (One of the hardest releases on the label, issue only thing. Superb modern soul dancer with a more rare soul feel than the label is known for. Date written on label)

Wardell Piper - The power of love - Midsong / VG+ / £50 (Rare 45 only slab of disco flavored modern soul. VG+ with super light sleeve marks only, plays great.)

 

Wes Black - I feel good feeling good - Highland / VG / £50 (Modern soul banger! Plays with occasional and light crackle, OK for DJing etc.)

King Ernest Baker - That’s when I woke up / I can’t turn you a loose - Supreme / EX / £45 (Two nice Chicago crossover sides. One which later enjoyed a release on the Mercury label. Label has a little ring wear.)

Python - Disco soul Pt. 1 / Pt. 2 - Starbound / VG+ / £40 (Super obscure funky disco which looks like a Canada release but has a Cincinatti, Ohio address.)

New Younger Brothers - You gave me the feelin’ / Keep it together - YBP / VG / £40 (Good double header - modern soul backed with vocal fusion. Many light marks, plays ok with only minor distractions.)

Lonnie Hill - Cold winter in the ghetto - Urban Sound / EX/EX / £40 (Great copy of this 45 only release. Comes complete with picture sleeve.)

S.J. and Friends - This song / Wooday wopin - Fraternity / EX / £40 (Obscure Cincinatti release from 1979. One side midtempo modern and the other funky disco. Lovely copy complete with company sleeve.)

 

Arrivals — Wrapped up in your love — 20th Century / EX / £35 (Lovely, highly sought after, Holland-Dozier-Holland modern soul dancer which is only found on rare issue copies. Plays with a quick barely noticeable cue burn a couple of seconds in. Price reduced.)

Fish — This is life — Cavco / EX / £35 (Great Marvin Gaye inspired dancer with sublime qualities. Highly recommended! Down to the last 5 copies now, other copies for sale on the internet is listed at twice as much or more.)

Expo - Always thinking of you / Road to sunshine - Euphonic / EX / £30 (The release of this boogie/modern soul dancer with a good ballad flip.)

Dionne Warwick - You’re gonna need me / (I’m) Just Being Myself - WB (White demo of this superb H-D-H double sider. Felt tip pen writing on label.) / EX / £30

Aubrey Mann - I need your loving tonight / Don’t give up - Aim / VG+ / £30 (Rare and good Canada soul double header - two step backed with a boogie dancer. Visually EX this press is sensitive to marks and it plays with some light, occasional background crackle mostly present in the intro. Canadian press in plain sleeve, there’s also a Barbados one.)

Marboo - What about love - Midland International / EX / £25 (Popular disco/modern soul dancer. Label has a small round green sticker. Comes in company sleeve.)

 

Denise LaSalle - Here I am again / EX / £25 (Lovely, and classic, modern soul dancer. Date written on label.)

Jimmy Randolph - You have to lose love (to love love) - Honey Bee / VG+ / £25 (Superb feelgood midtempo modern soul. Promo copy, has many light marks but plays ok.)

Charles Khaliq - Charles - Brofeel / EX/NM / £30 (4 track EP with the 2 stepper “Money ain’t everything” + three boogie tracks. As new copy still in shrink copy complete with insert.)

Stage Coach - When you left, you did me in / Come with me  - United Sound / VG+ /  £30 (Just lovely 2 step/mellow groover backed with boogie. Full versions unlike the 45. Visually EX this pressing/vinyl is a little bit poor. Boogie side plays fine but you can hear some occasional very light crackles on the ballad side. My own copy has the same thing and it’s NM.)

 

Main Ingredient - Party people / Save me - Rca / EX / £25 (Sought after white demo copy of these two disco bangers. Comes in company sleeve.)

 

Bunny Mack - Let me love you - Rokel / EX / £12 (1979 original of this superb afro disco dancer. Company sleeve has three tiny stickers.)

Richard Paradise — In paradise with… — Solid Gold / EX/NM / £400 (As new copy of this ultra rare soul album. With the full length version of “Let me stay” as well as the even better  semi instrumental version “Sunset breezing in paradise” only available here.)

Carl Sherlock Holmes Investigation - Investigation No. 1 - C.R.S. / VG+/VG+ £275 (Rare and sought after funk/soul album. Cover EX except some fraying on title seam and smaller stain on back. Vinyl has some light sleeve marks, plays well.)

Reid Inc - s/t - Bold / EX/VG+ / £250 (Rare TK release!  “What am I gonna do” is a superb midtempo dancer. Cover has some light general wear.)

Syl Johnson - Dresses too short - Twinight / EX/EX / £175 (Classic album with filled to the brim of gritty soul and funk. Superb copy with cover still in shrink. Vinyl has some stain like marks but plays well.)

 

Madcliff - s/t - Guinness / EX/VG+ / £125 (One of the best titles on the label. filled with goodies. “What people say about love” is a great energetic modern soul dancer. “It takes time” is a beautiful slowie, a real pearl. “You can make the change” is an old deep funk scene spin. “I like it” is a great indie take on the Players Association song. Cover has cut corner and light ring wear.)

 

Mystic Band - Back from the past… - Art / EX/EX / £125 (Super rare 80’s indie out of Chicago. Includes a longer version of their superb 80’s re-make of “That’s the kind of love”.)

Piranha - Headed in the right direction - Amazon South / EX/VG+ / £70 (Rare 1981 soul/funky disco album that also enjoyed a reissue. The midtempo modern soul dancer “One sided love” is the standout track for me. Cover has light general wear.)

Artistics - Get my hands on some lovin’ - OKeh / VG+/EX / £60 (Classic Chicago soul album! Vinyl looks EX but track A1  which is the title track plays with light background noise first part of the song. Cover in beautiful condition except cut out hole accompanied by two needle holes.)

Ollie Nightingale - Sweet surrender - Pride / EX/EX / £45 (Solid album which also contains the dancer “I don’t know why I love you”. White label demo, back cover has orange DJ sticker.)

Plunky and Oneness of Ju Ju Introducing Virtania Tillery - Electric Ju Ju Nation - N.A.M.E. / EX/EX / £45 (Rare indie album with the modern soul dancer “Share with you”. Still in shrink but has cut corner.)

 

April - Yours tonight - Marva / VG+/VG+ / £45 (Strong VG+ with only minor issues, still look and play great. Including the awesome disco tinged modern soul dancer “Promises, oh promises”. Rare Milwaukee release. Cover has signed dedication.)

Carlos Garnett - Cosmos nucleus - Muse / EX/EX / £40 (Indemand fusion album with the cut “Mystery of ages” which has appeal to soul fans. Superb copy still in shrink.)

Ingram Kingdom - The funk is our music - Excello / EX/EX / £40 (Including the great dancer “What else can I say” + more. Cover in as new condition but has a cut out hole.)

Future Flight - s/t - Capitol / EX/EX / £35 (Superb copy of this Lamont Dozier penned indemander. With “Hip-notic lady” and “Dues”.)

Ovations - Peace of mind - Gold Wax/Vivid Sound / EX/EX / £35 (Japanese album from 1977 compling their earlier Gold Wax 45’s. With insert, cover has around 7cm centre lower split. Other than that in as new condition.)

Rocky Mizell & the Sugar Rock Band - s/t - Drive / EX/EX / £30 (“Never never girl” the version! Rare 1977 TK release. In beautiful condition only flaw is a slightly creased corner.)

Mildred Clark & the Melody-Aires - 2000 years - Abc Peacock / VG+ / VG / £30 (Incl the popular “Keep trying”. Vinyl has some light marks, plays well but not perfect. Cover has gold promo stamp, light general wear and a 4cm some)

Sidney Joe Qualls - I enjoy loving you - Dakar / EX/EX / £20 (Great album with the Sam Dees penned dancer “Run to me” and a bunch of other nice Al Green-ish songs. Cover still in shrink, has cut corner.)

Barbara Lynn - You don’t have to go - Ichiban / EX/EX / £15 (With her popular cover of “Trying to love two” + great re-make of her 1973 hit “You make me so hot”.)

 

Sam Russell - What’s usual ain’t natural - Playboy / EX/EX / £10 (The title track is a excellent version of the Eric Mercury song. Album in as new condition.)

Jose Feliciano - And the feelings is good - Rca / EX/VG+ / £8 (With his fantastic version of “Golden lady”. Vinyl is as new but cover has light ring wear. Gatefold.)

I've seen plenty of "Good and plenty" white demos double sideing that track. Never a demo of "If you move, you lose", to my knowledge only stuck on the b-side of the issue copies?
