I've bought from him too and he's a goodun. Like I said, old chap, the original jist of thread was a value on the Sound Masters.

Just thought maybe he'd got a new copy of JM's book with his starting price!!

Rich Rosen and Joe Giattino are not the same person, obviously, but I heard that they do cooperate which may explain that the same titles seem to appear from both of the ID's in question. Do any of you have any kind of evidence (and no, "my old mate thought so", is not evidence!) that any record passed of as an original was not an original? The gold Four Voices and Frank Dell and all those are well documented to not be originals but apart from that? And there has been tons of rare things on styrene that has turned up in mint condition, what are you on about? All the Shrine things and a zillion other things from the West Coast find are styrene. I am not saying clever forgery has never happened or that it can not happen or that it is not happening, BUT, do you have any evidence? I am also amazed at the sheer amount of valuable records in good condition that some dealers turn up, but my first conclusion is not that they are bootlegs. And lastly, are you guys aware of the fact that several pro US record dealers are (or at least were) members of this forum? I'd be a bit more careful with what I write if I were you, for many reasons. This is not exactly a private little chat room.

Firstly.... know of someone who has bought of the two ID's.... same e-mail addy.... same "sender" address on packaging.... or are they "shared" as well....????

Granted.... some things turn up on Styrene in "mint".... wasn't saying they didn't.... was saying how on these particular eBay sales lists they are "worn" so are more legit looking in appearance.... UNLIKE the vinyl stuff that's always "mint" and looks "fresh of the press".... rare or otherwise.... :):)

As for "evidence" would not want to buy just to check it out and find got stung.... would rather avoid.... if others say all's OK then good, but nothing wrong with being "suspicious or sceptical".... like Mike said, an "open forum" for all to read.... if the "pro US sellers" read this stuff then "all the better" IMO.... justs lets people know that "we" have these topics and opinions which sift out the good from the bad....

Until informed by a "moderator" that certain "posts" are not welcome then will continue to express my opinion just like you and everybody else can express theirs.... :)smile.gif

Feel free to write whatever you like, I was just trying to help. It is pretty daft to discuss certain things in public as if you were having a private chat with a few mates in a pub somewhere, it benefits others and often harms you, that's all. To the point, the Soundmasters is clearly not a rare record by and definition of the word, and there is at least a small quantity around. These records are like insects or something, there's never one or two, there's whole swarms of them.
