Okay, little light hearted thread, these threads get a bit heavy at times.

So, which three tracks really float your boat at the moment? What three would you open a set with? I'll start with what gets hammers on my headphones at work.

Vernon Greene, Look At Me, Look At Me.

Versatones, Rolin, Rolin.

The Venturas, Heart Of Love.

If I was a DJ, I'd open with these great tunes.

What are your three 'openers' then?

Dunno about opening a set with them but my last 3 purchases were :-

Little Milton - You Ought To Be Here With Me

Charles walker & Dynamites - Get Up On Living/ Still Cant Get You Out Of My Heart

Masonic Wonders - Just To Behold His Face

Best

And there was me coming on to moan about another rock music thread, since you get so sensitive whenever I answer you on any political thread nowadays..... :D  :D

And get it out of freebasing and over to AATS before it veers off into progressive rock!

Funny just had 3 things come up on my shuffle today in order and thought would be great adrenaline start to a set

Koko Taylor Fire (amphetasoul)

Erskine Mobely Luck Man (always like the one instrumental in set)

Linda Jones Cant Stop Loving My Baby (Still say its her best dancer)

Then Diane Lewis I Thank You Kindly and 3/4 an hour of Beat Ballads just to confirm I can't DJ

Jocko, me sensitive, never, I love the sparing.

I'll buy you a drink one day to prove I'm always happy to agree to disagree.

Nice choice of sounds BTW.

Barbara Mercer -Hey

Fantastic Four-As Long As I Live

The Fantastic Four on revisiting it just blows me away, when it trips off into the melody I'm gone.

just curious but how come there is no famous names and classics amongst them ?

do they have to be obscure to be favorite ??

the three I chose are very well know deep / Soul records and artists / labels. But admittedly not northern soul. Regards.

                                                             The Remarkables can't give up

Today's solid northern three for me are:

Betty Lloyd - I'm Catching On

Dave Love - Colalined Baby

Marvin Smith - Have More Time

OK, OK they've got whiskers on, but a good record is a good record is a good record. Can't get them out of my head at the mo.

It'll be three totally different ones tomorrow (or even later tonight).

Always so difficult to pick a top 3, top 10, or top anything. It all depends on the day, the mood, etc, etc. Having said that, I reckon these three are doing it for me at the moment...

Mr Lucky  - Freddy Hill & the Reno-Bops - Ru-Tee Hit

Cookie Jackson - Do you still love me - Progress

So, today's three:

Karmello Brooks - Tell Me Baby

Junior McCants - The Boy Needs A Girl

Nomads - Something Bad

First two are pretty new listens to me (probably ancient oldies to you lot) - Karmello Brooks lovely, sophisticated sound - I'm liking more of this stuff - is it my age?, McCants almost like an 80s UK indie band sound (just guitars n drums) shame he came off his bike!!!

Nomads haven't heard in donkeys years and now back on the playlist.

Every day it's 3 different faves three different little bits of heaven!
